Harris Auto Racing returns as title sponsor for Super Nationals Modified Race of Champions

BOONE, Iowa (Aug. 31, 2022) – A dozen championship-winning Modified drivers will battle side-by-side and bumper-to-bumper in the Harris Auto Racing Race of Champions at Boone Speedway during the upcoming IMCA Speedway Motors Super Nationals fueled by Casey’s. 

Harris, the Boone chassis builder, has been title sponsor of the event for 16 years and provides a portion of the purse to be paid for the $1,000 to win race pn Saturday, Sept. 10. 

Qualifying for the 12-car, 12-lap, race is Thursday, Sept. 8 and is open to top drivers in local track standings competing at Super Nationals, as well as 2022 track champions, former national, regional and Super Nationals champions, and to previous race winners. 

Two hundred and sixteen different drivers from 26 states and Canada have competed in the Modified Race of Champions since it became part of Super Nationals in 1989.

Owned by IMCA Modified driver Kyle Brown, Harris is now its 27th season of IMCA sponsorship. 

“We have a saying in our showroom, Behind These Walls…Champions are Built, and a lot of those champions were crowned in our backyard at the IMCA Super Nationals,” Brown said. “It only makes sense for us to title sponsor the champions race with our history and involvement with IMCA and Boone Speedway.”

McBirnie, Logue, Anderson score Salute to Veterans wins at Boone

By Joyce Eisele BOONE, Iowa (July 31) – It was Hunting with Heroes Salute to Veterans Night at the Boone Speedway on Saturday, with 205 race cars packing the pits and running before a full grandstand. Jake McBirnie repeated his win from last week in the IMCA Modified division, as did Mike Kennedy in the IMCA STARS Mod Lites. Logan Anderson in the Karl Kustoms Northern SportMods and Dylan Nelson in the IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks captured their first wins of the year and Johnathon Logue saw his first career win in an IMCA Sunoco Stock Car. The Modifieds ran 25 laps for their main event. Richie Gustin started on the outside front row and shot into the lead, seeking the $3,000 payday. Opening night Frostbuster entries total 173, Grabouski makes right moves for $1,000 win

MARSHALLTOWN, Iowa (April 5) – Jordan Grabouski paused during his post-race interview to wave to a fan who’d driven all the way from Beatrice to watch him win Friday’s Frostbuster feature for IMCA Modifieds at Marshalltown Speedway. Building on success, Berry to raise bar for Super Nationals

NEWBURG, N.D. – He’s already had a season full of career highlights, but Tom Berry Jr. will be looking to raise the bar again at the IMCA Speedway Motors Super Nationals fueled by Casey’s. “We’re going to go to Boone with the goal of making the show. Once you qualify, you can race hard and try to win the thing,” said Berry, from Newburg, N.D., and most recently winner of Han­cock County Speedway’s Night of 10,000 Stars IMCA Modified man event. “We’re already in the Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational and are eligible to qualify for the Harris Auto Racing Race of Champi­ons.
