Duhme tops IMCA Modified main at Maquoketa

MAQUOKETA, Iowa (May 28, 2022) – Ryan Duhme scored the 20-lap Friesen Performance IMCA Modified feature victory Saturday at Maquoketa Speedway, getting out front early and taking the checkers over last week’s winner Travis Denning.

The win was Duhme’s second win in 2022 at the Maquoketa Speedway. Denning finished second ahead of Mitch Morris.

Friesen Performance IMCA Northern SportMod racing saw Shane Paris score his third win in a row at Maquoketa by topping the 15-lap feature.

Paris started eighth and made his way to the front by passing Brandon Jewel for the lead. Paris went on to score the win ahead of Jarrett Franzen and Jacob Arp.

The IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars feature went to a first-time winner in 2022 at the Maquoketa Speedway. Scooter Dulin took a hard-fought win holding off Brandon Vorbeck for the win. Richard Nelson ran third.

Randy LaMar turned last week’s frustration around and scored the win in the IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stock feature. LaMar scored a comfortable win over Lukas Short and Dawson Bowling. 

Racing action will continue this Saturday, June 4. Hot laps will get underway at 5:30 p.m. at the Maquoketa Speedway.

IMCA drivers join Darkside for spring specials at Maquoketa, Cedar County

MAQUOKETA, Iowa (March 13, 2024) – IMCA drivers will race for big checks and All-Star Invitational eligibility at a pair of Darkside Promotions events this spring. Friesen Performance IMCA Modifieds are on the card both nights of the March 29 and 30 Nippy 50 Super Late Model show at Maquoketa Speedway, running for $1,500 to win on Friday and $2,500 to win on Saturday. Duffy tops thriller, Mohr wins first at Maquoketa

By Jerry Mackey MAQUOKETA, Iowa (June 17, 2023) – Maquoketa Speedway hosted Oly’s Garage Night at the races on Saturday night. Beautiful weather and a very fast tacky track provided for an action-packed night of stock car racing.  The headliner of the night featured the return of the IMCA Sunoco Late Models and a field of 16 cars took the green flag for a 25-lap feature that went flag to flag. Logan Duffy took the lead from pole sitter Brandon Loos and went on to build a comfortable advantage. As the laps wound down, the lead pack swelled to three as Bryce Garnhart and Dalton Simonsen joined Duffy.  Both Simonsen and Garnhart were scored as leaders late in the race. Current finds victory lane at Maquoketa 

By Rob Hinckley MAQUOKETA, Iowa (July 14) – The crowd probably could feel Tim Current’s sigh of relief as he exited turn four. Current crossed by the checkered flag first and won the 15-lap Ueland Auto IMCA Stock Car feature Saturday evening at Maquoketa Speedway. “This was a long time coming,” Current said and then laughed. “I had to use a GPS to find victory lane.” Current had come close several times in three different racing classes, including leading two features in the same night earlier in the season. Both came to an end early with mechanical issues. This night he would not be denied. “Winning here is great. The track was really racy.
