Super Nationals Stock Car champion earns Midstate Machine built engine

BOONE, Iowa – Midstate Machine builds the engine that goes home with the Stock Car champion crowned at the IMCA Speedway Motors Super Nationals fueled by Ca­sey’s.

IMCA and event sponsors will contribute parts. Midstate Machine of Des Moines again donates the labor to award to the winner of the Sept. 11 main event at Boone Speedway.

“It’s cool that they get an engine,” said Midstate’s John Davis. “We’re glad to be part of this.” 

Contributing parts are Speedway Motors, EQ Cylinder Heads, Edelbrock, Kevko, JE Pistons, Champ Pans, Summit, Comp Cams, Manley and PBM.

Midstate Machine furnishes the rest of the parts. 

“We have been working with John and his team at Midstate Machine for the past few weeks to ensure this was something we could present to the Stock Car champion,” said IMCA Marketing Director Kevin Yoder. “Our IMCA sponsors always step up with great product support and Mid­state gets all the credit for graciously willing to assemble and complete the build to make sure the Stock Car champion leaves Boone with a high quality engine. We are proud to be able to work with them.”

IMCA claims the engines of Saturday night Modified, Stock Car, Hobby Stock and Northern SportMod champions, who all receive new motors, with proceeds from the auction that evening distributed equally to the other drivers qualifying for those respective main events.

Seven more score eligibility for Fast Shafts Invitational

VINTON, Iowa (April 3, 2024) – Four feature winners at the Clash on the Coast are among the seven Friesen Performance IMCA Modified drivers new to Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational qualifying eligibility. First Washington entry getting back on track at Super Nationals

PUYALLUP, Wash. – Nine years after his last race, Will Taylor became the first Washington State driver to register for the 41st annual IMCA Speedway Motors Super Nationals fueled by Casey’s. An Arkansas native and traveling respiratory therapist by profession, Taylor is now working out of Puyallup. He’ll make the trip to Boone Speedway via Batesville, where Kevin Shaw is getting his 2005 Shaw ride race-ready. “This was a track championship winning car for Shawn Walsh,” said Taylor. “I’m hoping some of his good luck rubs off on me.” The upcoming Super Nationals are a bucket list race for Taylor, a proud member of the Shaw racing family and three-time spectator at America’s Racin’ Vacation, most recently in 2019. “I’ve been a part-time racer. 16 more IMCA Modified drivers are All-Star eligible

VINTON, Iowa – Another 16 IMCA Modified drivers are newly eligible for Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational qualifying. Hank Berry and Travis Hagen were Can-Am Shootout winners at Williston Basin Speedway. Zane DeVilbiss swept the Wild West Tour weekend at Desert Thunder Raceway and Jesse Glenz topped the Land of Ten Thousand Lakes 10K at Princeton Speedway. Bricen James was first to the checkers in the Dakota Classic Tour finale at Dacotah Speedway while Benji LaCrosse landed the big win at The ‘Burg Speedway’s Eric Van Iten Memorial. Rayce McCord and Joey Price were Mountain States Modified Tour winners. Brad Pounds paced Bakersfield Speedway’s McGowan Memorial.
