Czarapata gets first Outagamie win of season

SEYMOUR, Wis. (June 25) – Friday’s IMCA Modified headliner at Outagamie Speedway started with J.J. Andersen jumping to an early lead as Cody Schroeder and Jason Czarapata gave chase.

Czarapata was the first to work the cushion, working his way around Schroeder for second. Czarapata set his sights on Andersen, who was running the tires. Czarapata swept around Andersen and to the lead on lap nine. Schroeder followed suit around the outside, closing right to the back bumper of Czarapata.

Schroeder made every move possible but couldn’t find the grip to make the pass. Czarapata scored his first win of the season and a clean sweep to boot. Schroeder had to settle for second at the pay window, Andersen was third. The race went green to checkers.

Evan Staeck quickly jumped to the lead in the IMCA Sunoco Stock Car main. Early cautions allowed Rod Snellenberger and Chas Van Ooyen to close in. Snellenberger used this to his advantage, working to lead on lap nine.

Van Ooyen applied heavy pressure on Snellenberger, taking the lead on lap 15. Snellenberger came roaring back on the outside, pulling even with Van Ooyen. On the final lap, Van Ooyen was able to gain a little breathing room to score the win. Snellenberger took second and Travis Van Straten placed third.

In Karl Kustoms Northern SportMod action it was Travis Rhodes leading the opening circuits from his front row starting position. A series of cautions kept the field bunched up and on the tail of Rhodes.

Rhodes came under fire from Elijah Koenig. Koenig was able to find the extra grip down, passing Rhodes for the lead. The race stayed clean and green the rest of way with Koenig continuing his hot streak and picking up the win.

Ryan Schmidt closed in late but had to settle for second. Rhodes was third.

And in the Mach-1 Sport Compacts, David Cox set the pace early with Justin Finlan and Kyle Jorgenson giving chase. A caution on lap 13 bunched the field. On the restart, Finlan wrestled the lead away but Cox came storming back two laps later. Cox held off a hard charging Jorgenson to pick up his first win of the season. Jorgenson was second and Thomas Schulte took third.

Hebbe conquers IMCA Stock Car competition at Outagamie Speedway

By Edward Anschutz SEYMOUR, Wis. (June 11) – Larry Karcz Jr. held court early in the IMCA Sunoco Stock Car feature Friday at Outagamie Speedway as he ran the top groove with Kevin Hebbe giving chase. Midway through the contest, Hebbe pulled even with Karcz. The duo battled door-to-door with Hebbe taking the top spot on lap 12. Karcz stayed within striking distance but in the end, it was Hebbe besting a solid field of cars for his first win of the season. Karcz had to settle for second at the pay window. Brandon Czarapata was third, Rod Snellenberger took fourth and Logan Leary completed the top. In the IMCA Modifieds, Lucas Lamberies threaded the needle from his second row starting spot to make a three-wide pass for the lead on the opening lap. Lamberies pulled away from the field, dominating the event. When the checkers fell it was Lamberies taking home the win by a margin of eight seconds. LaCrosse leads the way at Outagamie

(Aug. 23) – Benji LaCrosse only led one lap of the IMCA Modified feature Friday at Outagamie Speedway but it was the one that paid as he stole victory from Andy Kleczka.  Kleczka used his front row starting spot to build a huge lead early in the feature. That was erased when the caution flew just past the midway point. The first to challenge for the top spot was last week’s winner Wyatt Block Jr. as he worked down low and Kleczka ran the cushion.  Once again, Kleczka built a gap as LaCrosse took the runner-up position with three laps remain­ing. LaCrosse closed in but remained two car lengths behind. On the final cor­ners LaCrosse came in high and dove down the track to the inside of the leader as they came to the checkers.  When the dust settled it was LaCrosse winning by the width of his bumper in a thriller. On the other side of the coin it was heartbreak city for Kleczka who had to settle for second. Block placed third, Jerry Wilinski and rookie Cody Apfelback completed the top five. Wilson, Rhodes race to first IMCA wins at Outagamie

By Edward Anschutz  SEYMOUR, Wis. (June 19) – The weather held off for fans and racers who joined Outagamie Speedway powered by EWSC for night number two. Fans were greeted to 128 cars doing battle. Hunter Parsons looked to be the man to beat early in the IMCA Modified feature as he pulled out to an early lead. Parsons paced the field with Jason Czarapata, Brian Mullen and Tyler Wilson giving chase. Czarapata’s night came to an abrupt end as his machine lost the right rear wheel just past the midway point. With the field bunched up Wilson went to work down low, wrestling the lead away on lap 14. Wilson pulled away for his first win in the Modified ranks. Parsons had to the settle for second at the pay window, Wyatt Block rallied to place third, Mullen was fourth and Mar­cus Yarie completed the top five.
