Qualifying starts for Stuart’s Dirt Duel

STUART, Iowa (June 15) – Tuesday night saw 108 race cars and drivers at Stuart Speedway for opening night of the Dynamic Drivelines Dirt Duel. 

Qualifying feature winners for the night were Dylan VanWyk and Brayton Carter in the Karl Kustoms Northern SportMods, Dallon Murty and Chanse Hollatz in the IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars, and Jeremy Purdy and Braden Richards in the IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks. 

In the feature for Mach-1 Sport Compacts, Braxton Wallace and Dusty Champlin were on the front row. Wallace rocketed into the lead and it was all over from there as the T13 drove off to the win. Mark Smith finished second with Andrew Mills third, Harold Robb fourth and Curtis Masterson fifth.

Cory Sonner and Kaden Cochrun led the IMCA STARS Mod Lites to the green flag and it was all Cochrun as he cruised to the win. Dillon Raffurty finished in second with Michael Raffurty third, Josh May fourth and Nathan Wolfe fifth. 

Manufacturers’ races were the last two races on the track with the Northern SportMods being the first ones to go. Jimmy Davy and Tim Eaton started from the front row but it was Izac Mallicoat leading early with Carter close behind. Carter made his move on lap four and it was all over as he sped off to the win. Mallicoat finished second with VanWyk third, Cory Pestotnik fourth and Jake Sachau fifth. 

Stock Cars were the last one on the track for their manufacturers race with Bob Daniels and Nick Roberts out front. Damon Murty flew to the lead early and led to the end to take the win. Dallon Murty finished second with Michael Jeannette third, Bob Daniels fourth and Derek Green fifth. 

Wednesday will see day two of the Dynamic Drivelines Dirt Duel with the IMCA Modifieds joining the race program.

Dirt Duel, Bill Davis Memorial June 1-3 at Stuart

STUART, Iowa – IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars and Karl Kustoms Northern SportMods chase $3,000 top checks at Stuart Speedway’s June 1-3 Dynamic Drivelines Dirt Duel. Both 50-lap main events on Wednesday night pay a minimum of $400 to start. Qualifying fea­tures Monday and Tuesday send top four finishers to the big shows on June 3.  Chassis manufacturers’ races for both divisions pay $1,000 to win with a $50 entry fee and 100 percent payback. Hot laps start at 6:45 p.m. each night. Mach-1 Sport Compacts race on Tuesday. Also on the Wednesday program are the $1,000 to win Bill Davis Memorial for IMCA Modifieds, plus IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks. Entry fee is now $150 and increases to $200 on June 2 and $300 on June 3. Pit passes are $30 a day or $80 for all three days. Grandstand admission is $12 for adults, $5 for students ages 9-16 and free for ages eight and under. Stuart Speedway hosts May 1 Dynamic Drivelines Dirt Duel

STUART, Iowa (April 18, 2024) – Friesen Performance IMCA Modifieds and IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars run for potential All-Star berths at Stuart Speedway’s Dynamic Drivelines Dirt Duel. The eighth annual event is Wednesday, May 1. Modifieds chase a $1,000 top check and Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational qualifying eligibility, Stock Cars a top prize of $750 and B & B Racing Chassis All-Star Invitational qualifying eligibility. Rounding out the sanctioned card are Friesen Performance IMCA Northern SportMods in a $750 to win feature, IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks in a $500 to win main and Mach-1 IMCA Sport Compacts. IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National, regional, Iowa State and track points will be awarded at the draw/redraw show. Hot laps are at 6:45 p.m. with racing to follow. Thornton is dynamic in Dirt Duel win at Stuart

By Josh Reynolds STUART, Iowa (June 12) – Another big-money event ended with Ricky Thornton Jr. in victory lane, this time in an IMCA Sunoco Stock Car. The multi-division star raced from eighth starting to win the 50-lap headline event at Stuart Speedway’s Dynamic Drivelines Dirt Duel presented by Sniper Speed & Midstate Machine Wednesday night. The checkers were good for $3,000 and came ahead of Abe Huls and Johnny Spaw.  Huls had taken the early lead over Elijah Zevenbergen and Spaw before the yellow flew on lap three. Huls led the next circuit with Zevenbergen taking over on lap five.  Zevenbergen led one more lap until he went into a wild spin in turn two to bring out the second and what proved to be final yellow of the night. Once the green came out again it was Huls leading Thornton and Spaw. Thornton followed in Huls’ tire tracks until making his move on lap 18 and taking over the front spot.
