Green flag flies again Friday night at Hancock County Speedway

BRITT, Iowa – Racing returns to Hancock County Speedway Friday night, with five IMCA divisions on the June 11 card. 

The Hancock County District Fair Board has taken over promotion of weekly events, slated to feature IMCA Modifieds, IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars, IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks, Karl Kustoms Northern SportMods and Mach-1 Sport Compacts, for the remainder of the season. 

“We would like to thank Ryan, Holly and Daryl for all of the work they have put into the track for the past year and a half,” said Ryan Hiscocks, a fair board director. “The facility is in great shape. The weather looks to be great for Friday and we invite everyone to come out and enjoy the races.” 

Three bicycles will be given away to kids attending the Friday race program at Britt, on Hillenga Seeds and Trulson Auto Parts Night. 

On site camping is available. Pit gates open at 5 p.m. and racing follows 7 p.m. hot laps. 

Karl Kustoms Northern SportMods run for $2,500 to win and a minimum of $300 to start their main event at Hancock County’s Tuesday, June 22 MaxYield Seeds SportMod Nationals.

Racing starts at 7:30 p.m. that evening.

The $2,000 to win Hobo 40 for IMCA Stock Cars is July 30, the $3,000 to win Night of 1,000 Stars for Modifieds on Aug. 6 and $4,000 to win Night of 10,000 Starts for Modifieds on Aug. 7.

“We’re going full steam ahead with weekly programs and specials,” noted Hiscocks. “We are working with additional, potential sponsors now.”

Hancock County’s Hobo 100 has $4,000 IMCA Sunoco Stock Car top prize 

BRITT, Iowa – IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars get top billing at Hancock County Speedway’s Friday, July 27 Hobo 100, racing for a top prize of $4,000. Rounding out the card are IMCA Modifieds vying for $2,000 to win and a berth on the 2019 Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot, while Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMods run for $1,000 to win, IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks for $500 to win and Mach-1 Sport Compacts for $200 to win. IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National, regional and Iowa State, but no local track points will be awarded at the draw/redraw show. Anderson streaks, repeats at IMCA Landus SportMod Nationals

BRITT, Iowa (June 12, 2023) – So much for the slow start to his season. Logan Anderson led 29 of 30 laps in repeating as winner of the Landus IMCA Northern SportMod Nationals at Hancock County Speedway, outrunning Matthew Looft and Colby Fett and earning $2,500 for his Monday night efforts. The Eddyville hot shoe is now 2-for-2 in his Friesen Performance IMCA Northern SportMod career outings at Britt. Looft keeps plugging for career best payday at IMCA MaxYield Seed SportMod Nationals

BRITT, Iowa (June 22) – The driver with the most Karl Kustoms Northern SportMod feature wins plugged his way to his biggest win Tuesday night at Hancock County Speedway. Matt Looft led all 30 laps of the MaxYield Seed SportMod Nationals from his outside row one start, outrunning Colby Fett following a late restart to take the $2,500 checkers.  “That was the highest paying win I’ve ever had so that was pretty cool,” Looft said following career win number 175 in the division. “I finally got a good draw.
