IMCA Modifieds in $1,000 to win features at Arizona Speedway’s Wild Wing Shootout

QUEEN CREEK, Ariz. – IMCA Modifieds chase $1,000 top checks and spots on the Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot each night of Arizona Speedway’s Friday-Sunday, Jan. 22-24 Wild Wing Shootout.

All three features pay a minimum of $100 to start and IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National, Shaw Race Cars Western Region and KMJ Arizona Performance State points will be awarded each night.

Pit passes are $45 and entry fee is $25.

Pit gates open at 1:30 p.m., the grandstand opens at 3:30 p.m., hot laps are at 4:30 p.m. and racing starts at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Pits open at 1 p.m., the grandstand opens at 3 p.m., hot laps are at 3:30 p.m. and racing starts at 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

Adult grandstand admission is $25 on Friday and $30 on Saturday and Sunday. Kids ages 6-12 are $10 and five and under get in free all three nights. An open practice runs from 6-9 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 21. Pit passes are $40 that evening.

Madrid, Clower triumph at Arizona Speedway

By Stephanie Deatherage  SAN TAN VALLEY, Ariz. (May 1) – Arizona Speedway was back in action on Saturday, with Zachary Madrid and Andy Clower earning IMCA feature wins. Brody Center had the initial jump in the 20-lap IMCA Sunoco Stock Car main event but before the comple­tion of the first lap he would be overtaken by Madrid. Madrid took full control and checked out from the rest of the field. The only thing to slow down his dominance was three stoppages. Larry Brigner recovered from an early flat to end the night in second.  Brody Center was third while Dennis Losing posted a fourth-place result. The top five was completed by Raymond Doyle.   In Karl Kustoms IMCA Northern SportMod action, the 20-lap main event began with Robert Holmes setting the tone early. Holmes lost the coveted top place position on the second circuit to Clower. O’Neil rebounds for round 2 Arizona IMCA Modified Tour victory

(Feb. 10) – After a solid third place effort was negated the night before in post-race tech, Jake O’Neil cruised to the win on night two of the Karl Performance Arizona IMCA Mod­ified Tour at Arizona Speedway.  O’Neil started on the pole for the 25-lap main event with Kody Scholpp to his outside. O’Neil led the opening circuit with Scholpp in tow. Meanwhile, Jason Wolla, Casey Arneson and Ethan Dot­son raced three-wide for third. The race for third quickly became a battle for second as Dotson and Arneson reeled in Scholpp. Dotson, who was the lone driver in the top five riding the rim around the thin cushion, squeezed around Scholpp for second and brought Wolla with him.  Wolla snuck by Dotson for second with 18 laps to go but O’Neil had already stretched his ad­vantage to over two seconds.  Lapped traffic slowed O’Neil’s pace significantly, which allowed Wolla to close the gap to just over a half second. IMCA Stock Cars chase $1,000 top check at Arizona Speedway’s New Year’s Day special

SAN TAN VALLEY, Ariz. – IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars start the 2021 season with a $1,000 to win main event at Arizona Speedway’s 10th annual New Year’s Day special. Forty laps will be the distance for the Jan. 1 feature and IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National, regional and KMJ Performance Arizona State points will be awarded. Transponders are required. Pit gates open at 10:30 a.m. and spectator gates open at 11:30 a.m. Racing starts at 1 p.m. Admission is $20 for adults and kids 11 and under are free.
