Johnson, Schroeder win green to checkered features at Arlington

ARLINGTON, Minn. (Aug. 1) – Jeff Larson took the IMCA Sunoco Stock Car checkers and was joined by Luke Sathoff and Matt Speckman as the big winners money-wise at Wednesday’s Sibley County Shootout. Larson made his move to the front with four laps left in the Arlington Raceway show, passing Sathoff and leading to the $1,500 checkers. Sathoff took second and his position was drawn for an extra $500 bonus from Sunoco NAPA of Arlington. Speckman also received a $500.00 bonus for his 10th place finish. Damon Murty, David Moriarty and Dean Cornelius rounded out the top five. Hard charger Shaun Bruns was sixth. Derek Green chased Sathoff early before falling out with mechanical problems. The only caution was on lap nine for a spun car and Larson, Murty and Moriarty were all on the move following the restart. ARLINGTON, Minn. (Aug. 5, 2023) – The Sibley County Fair races provided three- and four- and even five-wide racing throughout the night in all divisions for the fans to enjoy Saturday at Arlington Raceway. The first feature saw Ben Davis lead the first four laps of the IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stock main but coming out of turn four he lost control of his car and allowed Cory Probst to take the lead from his 10th place start. Davis and Taylor Manderfield then had a good battle but Davis slid up and Manderfield was able to gain a position. On the next lap, Dan Probst was able to glide by both of those cars to take second behind son Cory. In the end, Cory Probst wins another feature with his dad taking second and Manderfield third. The Mach-1 IMCA Sport Compacts saw five-wide racing for the first lap until the field spread out and then again after a restart. ARLINGTON, Minn. (Aug. 5) – Chris Plamann was the third and final leader in Saturday’s Premier Lo­gistics IMCA Hobby Stock feature at Arlington Raceway. Colton Burke and Luke Trebelhorn split time up front before Plamann capitalized on a restart, then held off Brad Becker the eight times around the track. A restart also helped open the door for Unhinged Pizza IMCA Northern SportMod winner Kevin Kirk, who prevailed in a green, white, checkered finish in front of Jeff Lloyd. Dean Cornelius led from lap three to the finish of the B & B Racing Chassis IMCA Stock Car fea­ture and traveler Adam Hensel prevailed in the MN 93 IMCA Modified headliner. Chris Graf started 10th and finished first in the 95.7 The Rock IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Car main. Sixth starting Alex Dostal captured the Coors Light IMCA Sport Compact checkers.
