Weekly racing continues Friday at U.S. 36

OSBORN, Mo. (June 4) – Nineteen IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Cars were in attendance for Friday’s POWRi Drive to Zero United Rebel Sprint Series debut at Missouri’s US 36 Raceway and Jay Russell was the $1,000 Budweiser Shootout winner.  Russell and Jack Potter set the pace for the 25-lap feature, with Russell powering to the lead before a trio of early cautions.  Excellent side-by-side action followed amongst the top three cars, as Stuart Snyder slid to the high side with Russell and Kenny Potter just to the inside while Ty Williams began his march forward, moving into fourth. Potter and Snyder dueled for the runner-up position behind Russell as Williams and Mike Houseman Jr. challenged for fifth. Potter moved to second and began a charge on Russell before taking the lead. (Sept. 26, 2022) – Drivers will have until midnight tonight (Monday) to pre-enter for this weekend’s IMCA Missouri Nationals at US 36 Raceway.  IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Cars, IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars and Friesen Performance IMCA Northern SportMod drivers can go to MyRacePass to pay that $40 fee. Entry for all three divisions is $50 after midnight or at the gate. RaceSaver Sprint Cars race for $2,000 to win and a minimum of $200 to start, Stock Cars for $2,000 to win, B & B Racing Chassis All-Star Invitational qualifying eligibility and a minimum of $125 to start, and Northern SportMods for $1,500 to win and a minimum of $100 to start on Oct. 1 at Osborn. Payouts are based on full fields of 24 cars. Hobby Stocks can run with local pure stocks. Total payout for the fourth annual Missouri Nationals, to be broadcast by IMCA.TV, is $55,000. By Jacob Blair  OSBORN, Mo. – Steven Bowers Jr. motored to his third IMCA Modified win of the season at U.S. 36 Race­way Friday night.  Shayne Bailey jumped to the early lead and would pace the field. Before the first caution of the race on lap seven, Bailey had stretched the gap out comfortably, while Bowers and Chad Andersen started their journey through the field.  By halfway, both Bowers and Andersen had worked their way into the top five. While Andersen momen­tarily stalled out in the fifth position, Bowers charged up to second and began working different lines trying to find a way around Bailey. As Bowers made his move with five laps to go, the second and final caution of the race flew, keeping Bailey at the point. On the restart, Bailey earned some breathing room and looked well on his way to Westfall GMC Victory Lane.
