BOONE, Iowa (May 16) – The fans were missing at the Boone Speedway on Saturday for the opening night of the 2020 racing season, but the drivers got down to business. Due to the regula­tions by the state of Iowa during the Covid-19 pandemic, no spectators were allowed in the grand­stands, but drivers were eager to begin their racing season and get back to some sense of normalcy during this unprecedented time.

The IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars were up for a 20-lap feature event. Tony Hofbauer and Jeff Larson started on the front row and entered into a battle at the drop of the green. Larson jumped to the lead and then the two swapped the top spot for several laps until Hofbauer was able to establish it for good on lap 11. 

From then on, he pulled away and took the checkers, securing his first-ever IMCA Stock Car vic­tory.  Hofbauer, who did double duty on the night, also racing in the Modified class, finished comforta­bly ahead of second place Todd Reitzler. 

Ricky Thornton Jr. led all but the first lap in winning the IMCA Modified main. Jack Phillips paced the IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks from start to finish and Johnathon Logue led the last half of the Karl Kustoms Northern SportMod feature. 

Racing continues next Saturday night, May 23rd, once again with no spectators during the Covid-19 restrictions. Tune in to IMCA.TV for pay-per-view coverage of the action.

Split draw planned for Super Nationals Modified, Stock, Hobby, SportMod heats 

BOONE, Iowa (Aug. 11, 2022) – Modified, Stock Car, Hobby Stock and Northern SportMod drivers will again be guaranteed different starting spots in their qualifying heats at the upcoming IMCA Speedway Motors Super Nationals fueled by Casey’s. Make-up feature wins to Logue and Fye before Mother Nature comes calling at Boone

By Joyce Eisele BOONE, Iowa (June 17, 2023) – Make-up features for last week’s rain out at Boone Speedway were completed before Mother Nature spoiled the rest of the night’s festivities Saturday evening. These were run before the regular weekly show began. Johnathon Logue won the IMCA Sunoco Stock Car feature and it was Aron Fye taking top honors in the IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks. Both features went flag to flag. The Stock Cars ran their 20-lap make up feature first and Logue led all but the opening laps.  He got around Lonnie Hodges on lap six and then went on to claim the top spot the rest of the way to the checkers. Padilla makes STARS Mod Lite RoC win look easy

BOONE, Iowa (Sept. 1, 2024) – Hard to believe but Jon Padilla believes Boone Speedway isn’t as easy to get around as he made it look. Padilla led all 12 laps of Sunday’s STARS Mod Lite Race of Champions, cruising to the checkers nearly three seconds ahead of Ed Griggs “This track is really tricky to get around,” Padilla averred from victory lane. “I’m still trying to get it figured out.” “With day racing, the track changes so much it’s hard to guess what you’re going to get,” continued the Silvis, Ill., driver, runner-up in both 2022 and 2023 IMCA Speedway Motors Super Nationals fueled by Casey’s main events as well as last year’s RoC. “We’re going to work on something in the middle for the feature (tonight).
