IMCA Super Nationals set for spectacular 40th anniversary

BOONE, Iowa (June 16, 2022) – A grassroots racing spectacular four decades in the making plays out this September at Boone Speedway.

The 40th annual IMCA Speedway Motors Super Nationals fueled by Casey’s will be held Sept. 5-10 as drivers from across the United States and Canada converge on Iowa’s Action Track for the biggest and unquestionably the greatest event in all of dirt track racing.

“Super Nationals has evolved, traveling to different tracks and adding divisions over the years while always featuring the best drivers competing in front of the best fans in the sport,” noted IMCA President Brett Root. “While the upcoming Super Nationals will feature a familiar weekly format, we’re excited to have NAPA on board as sponsor of the rebranded Fan Zone.”

“NAPA,” he added, “will give away coupons good for discounts on Friday night tickets as well as product and certificate giveaways to drivers during the week. The excellent support we get from Speedway Motors, Casey’s and now NAPA is going to make Super Nationals even better in 2022.”

STARS Mod Lites run both nights of the Sept. 3-4 Prelude, joined by Modifieds and Stock Cars on Saturday and Hobby Stocks, Northern SportMods and Sport Compacts on Sunday.

The entire Late Model program is Monday while Sport Compacts run on Tuesday. Hobby Stocks and Northern SportMods qualify Sept. 5 and 6, with last-chance races on the Wednesday card along with the first round of qualifying for Modifieds and Stock Cars.

The second annual B & B Racing Chassis All-Star Invitational for Stock Cars is Thursday, the Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational for Modifieds on Friday.

Race of champion events and main events for the Modifieds, Stock Cars, Hobby Stocks and Northern SportMods bring the curtain down Saturday on The Original Three Wide.

“All the driver registration will be done through MyRacePass and we anticipate starting that and taking pit stall reservations this month. Camping reservations are already being accepted now,” said Root, “while the Boone Bound promotion on the IMCA and Boone Speedway Facebook pages will start in August.”

Both Modified and Stock Car main event qualifiers receive commemorative bottles of Methanol Moonshine; dates and times for cornhole tournaments are to be announced.

IMCA.TV will broadcast both the Prelude and each night of the 40th anniversary Super Nationals.

Logue is perfect Saturday at Boone

By Joyce Eisele BOONE, Iowa (July 25) – Johnathon Logue made it a perfect night Saturday, following his Haw­keye Challenge victory with the Karl Kustoms Northern SportMod checkers at Boone Speedway.  Logue had topped the Hawkeye Challenge, which featured cars from each weekly division run­ning a specified number (20-25) number of laps. With that $1,000 win already in hand, Logue drove from the 11th starting spot to catch leader Hunter Longnecker in the Northern SportMod main.  The two ran side-by-side for several laps until Logue made the pass for the lead on lap 11.  He kept the top spot the remainder of the way to the checkers and the win, his third at Boone this season.  Longnecker kept the runner-up spot and Dustin Lynch was third. Tim Ward collected his first local IMCA Modified feature win of the season while Jay Schmidt pre­vailed in the IMCA Sunoco Stock Car feature for the second time.  Mike Smith also raced to his second Boone Speedway checkers of 2020 in the IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stock main.

Stephenville Starter makes heat wins pay off, continues Hobby Stock RoC title sponsorship

STEPHENVILLE, Texas – Winning 10 or more heat races will pay off for one IMCA driver again this season, courtesy of Stephenville Starter. The Texas manufacturer and 11-year sponsor awards a starter to one randomly selected driver who meets that heat race win requirement and submits a photo of their car displaying use of two Dirt Defender mud covers. Inaugural Super Nationals BBQ Championship to determine another best at Boone Speedway

BOONE, Iowa – Every September, drivers from coast to coast and border to border converge on Boone Speedway to determine a champion at IMCA’s biggest event.  This year, Jacob Bartz hopes to get barbecue masters attending the IMCA Speedway Motors Super Nationals fueled by Casey’s to square off and determine a champion of their own.  Bartz has organized the first annual Super Nationals BBQ Championship, to be held Saturday, Sept. 7. “This is the best race in the United States, where you have drivers, fans and track owners from across the country,” said Bartz. “I want to see them enter barbecue from Oklahoma, from North Carolina and Minnesota, from all over.
