Southern Oklahoma Speedway starts new season with March 12-14 Stampede

ARDMORE, Okla. – IMCA Modifieds chase big checks and berths on the Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot each night of the season opening Southern Stampede March 12-14 at Southern Oklahoma Speedway.

Modifieds run for $2,000 to win and $200 to start on Thurs­day, $1,000 to win and $100 to start on Friday and $3,000 to win and $300 to start on Sat­urday at Ardmore.     

Increased paydays are in store for IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars and Smiley’s Racing Products South­ern SportMods, with both divisions running for $1,000 to win and $100 to start Thursday, $750 to win and $75 to start Fri­day and $1,250 to win and $125 to start Saturday.  

IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing Na­tional and E3 Spark Plugs Oklahoma State points will be awarded in all three divi­sions each night. Regional points are at stake for the Modifieds and Stock Cars with Modifieds earning track points as well.

Karl Kustoms Northern SportMods will be part of all three shows. On Saturday, they’ll run in separate heat races and line up in each row alongside a Southern SportMod in a North vs. South main event.     

All three Saturday features will start 30 cars three-wide.

Pit gates open at 3 p.m. all three days. Racing starts at 6:30 p.m. Thursday and Friday and at 5 p.m. on Saturday. Adult grandstand admission is $20 on Saturday and $15 on Thursday and Friday. Kids ages 6-12 get in for $15 on Saturday and for $10 on Thursday and Friday, with ages five and under free all three nights.     

Pit passes each night are $35 for adults. Three-day adult pit passes are $100. Pit passes for students ages 13 and up are $15 on Thursday and Friday and $20 on Saturday; pit passes for kids ages 6-12 are $10 on Thursday and Friday and $15 on Saturday.  

An open practice runs from 7-10 p.m. on Wednes­day, March 11. Pit passes are $15 and grand­stand admittance is free.
