Three IMCA divisions in action this weekend at Southern Oklahoma

ARDMORE, Okla. – Three IMCA divisions see action this weekend at Southern Oklahoma Speed­way. 

Ken Schrader and Kenny Wallace will be among the IMCA Modified contenders on the Friday, May 1 opening night card while IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars and Smiley’s Racing Products Southern SportMods both run Saturday, May 2. 

In compliance with CDC and local health guidelines, both the number of entries and the number of spectator tickets sold will be limited each night. 

Pit passes are $35 for all divisions; pit passes and spectator tickets are only available online, through MyRacePass and accessible through the track website. 

Drivers must print off pit pass vouchers and exchange it for a wrist band at the pit gate. Similarly, anyone who buys spectator ticket(s) must provide a voucher and photo ID for grandstand entry.

Masks or other suitable facial covering must be worn at all times by everyone at the track and the pit area has been expanded to make social distancing easier for race teams. 

Hand sanitizer stations will be located at numerous locations around the facility.

Pit gates open at 3 p.m. and racing starts at 7 p.m. each night. Both race programs will be broadcast by Speed Shift TV. 

No IMCA points will be awarded either night. Limited concessions will be available.

Davis, Egbert, Williams clinch Red River Tour crowns

(May 31) – The finale to the second edition of the Lone Star Super Gas IMCA Red River Modified Tour presented by Smiley’s Racing Products provided a lot of action as the racing events unfolded on the Southern Oklahoma Speedway. Feature winners on the fifth and final night of the tour were Jake O’Neil, IMCA Modifieds; Trevor Egbert, Smiley’s Racing Products Southern SportMods; and Jeffrey Abbey, IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars.  Champions were Cory Davis in the Modifieds, Egbert and Gary Williams, Stock Cars. Throughout the Modified pack, three- and four-wide racing was common as the racers fought for position. Up front, Travis Johnson and O’Neil raced around the high side of the speedway and O’Neil attempted to find a way around Johnson. Opening night moves to Thursday for IMCA All Star Shootout

ARDMORE, Okla. (May 25, 2022) – Rain had the final word and resulted in rescheduling opening night of the IMCA All Star Shootout.  The lidlifter for Friesen Performance IMCA Modifieds, IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars and Smiley’s Racing Products IMCA Southern SportMods moves to Thursday, May 26 at Southern Oklahoma Speedway in Ardmore. The event originally scheduled that evening at Grayson County Speedway has been canceled. The Shootout is at Texas speedplants Boyd Raceway on Friday, May 27; at Kennedale Speedway Park on Saturday, May 28; and at Heart O’ Texas Speedway in Waco on Sunday, May 29.  Modifieds run for $1,000 to win and Fast Shafts All-Star qualifying eligibility each night. Jordan Page Memorial this weekend at Southern Oklahoma

ARDMORE, Okla. (Sept. 27, 2022) – Three IMCA divisions take to the 3/8-mile clay oval at Southern Oklahoma Speedway this weekend for the 18th annual Jordan Page Memorial Winter Nationals.  Main events on Saturday, Oct. 1 see Friesen Performance IMCA Modifieds run for $2,500 to win and Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational qualifying eligibility. Smiley’s Racing Products Southern SportMods chase a $1,500 top check and IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars run for $1,000 to win and B & B Racing Chassis All-Star Invitational qualifying eligibility. Top 12 drivers are locked in during Friday qualifying and the final 12 cars in last-chance races on Saturday.
