Salem Memorial is this weekend for Rebels

DODGE CITY, Kan. – Last week’s originally scheduled season opener at 81 Speedway for the Drive to Zero POWRi United Rebel Sprint Series presented by Mel Hambelton Ford Racing was postponed due to inclement weather. As a result, the season is now slated to kick off this Saturday, April 24 at Dodge City Raceway Park in Dodge City, Kan.  The 3/8-mile semi-banked clay oval opens this year under new management. Long-time Sprint Car driver Craig Dollansky and his team have devoted hours of time and enhancements to the facility leading up to the season. WaKEENEY, Kan. – The United Rebel Sprint Series Presented by Mel Hambelton Ford Racing has set its sail on the two-day WaKeeney Showdown this Saturday, Sept. 26 and Sunday, Sept. 27. The weekend’s events will take place atop the 3/8-mile semi-banked dirt oval of WaKeeney Speedway.  Saturday’s URSS feature winner will take home $700. Racing is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. Sunday’s winner will earn $1,000. Racing is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m. General admission is $20 for adults, kids ages 7-12 are $5 and children 6 and under are free both days.  The WaKeeney Showdown will conclude the IMCA point season and many non-regular series drivers are expected to attend vying for their last chance at an IMCA championship. 

HAYS, Kan. – The Mel Hambelton Ford Racing POWRi United Rebel Sprint Series will invade RPM Speedway this Saturday and Sunday, June 13 and 14 for the Mike Hughes Memorial Sun­flower Classic in Hays, Kan.  This race, originally scheduled for late March, is expected to draw a great field of cars as racing has opened back up in the state of Kansas. With this being the first two day show for the traveling IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Car series and paying $1,000 to win both days, cars from Kansas, Colo­rado, Nebraska, Oklahoma and Texas are expected to attend.   After two previous outings in Salina and Wichita, the point battle is heating up and this year prom­ises to be extremely competitive. Defending champion Zach Blurton took the opening round in Salina with 2019 tour rookie of the year Kyler Johnson picking up his first career feature victory in Wichita last weekend.
