Modified Madness rescheduled for Friday at US 36

OSBORN, Mo. – US 36 Raceway has tried twice to run Modified Madness presented by St. Joseph Bever­age and twice the event has been plagued by weather. Attempt number three has been resched­uled for this Friday, June 28. 

IMCA Modifieds will race for $1,000 to win and $150 to start their Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot qualifier.

Karl Kustoms Northern SportMods will run the Wayne Hicks Memorial Shootout as part of the event, which will pay a $966 check to the winner. The 20-lap feature will pay $86 to start. 

At the end of the night, the SportMods will also run the Shocker Chassis Six Pack Shootout. The top six eligible drivers in votes will participate in the event at the end of the night.

IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Cars and IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars are also on the card to the event. Pit gates open at 5 p.m. The grandstand opens at 6 p.m. Hot laps are at 7:30 and racing starts at 8 p.m. 

Tickets are $15 for adult general admission, $12 for seniors and military, $5 for children seven to 12 years of age and children six and younger are free.

US 36 Raceway practice moved to Sunday

OSBORN, Mo. (March 31, 2022) – The US 36 Raceway practice scheduled for Saturday, April 2 has been moved to Sunday, April 3 from 1-5 p.m.  Better weather is in the forecast for Sunday, said track officials, and the extra day will also allow more time for track prep.

Nearly perfect, Peeler paces Crist Memorial 

OSBORN, Mo. (July 27) – Twenty-two near-perfect laps after taking the initial green flag, Blake Peeler was celebrating a $1,262 payday and the highlight of his IMCA Sunoco Stock Car career. Peeler led every circuit of US 36 Raceway’s Joe Crist Memorial Friday night, taking the big win in front of a packed grandstand at Osborn. Peeler took command from the start of the second annual event after wife Nellie drew the two pill for him. A couple cautions kept him out of lapped traffic and Peeler put some distance on the rest of the field following the final restart with four laps left. “I’ve won championship night and mid-season championship night features before but this is the absolute highlight of my career,” he said. “I’m good friends with the (Crist) family so winning this race means a lot to me.” Brad Whitney was second, a couple car lengths back, and hard charger Mich Ross was third. Rain forces cancellation of Friday racing at U.S. 36

OSBORN, Mo. – Due to steady rain over the last two days and with more forecasted to come, US 36 Raceway officials have made the decision cancel racing action for Friday, July 31. Up next at US 36 Raceway is another edition of the Weekly Racing Series on Friday, August 7, featuring the IMCA Modifieds, IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Cars, IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars and Karl Kustoms Northern SportMods.  As part of the night, six IMCA Stock Car drivers will compete in the Shocker Chassis Six Pack Shootout at the end of the night in a bracket style special event. Voting for the Shootout will begin Sunday at 3 p.m., with a link on the US 36 Facebook page.
