LaCrosse is double winner at Outagamie

 SEYMOUR, Wis. (June, 7) – Benji LaCrosse was the class of two fields, scoring wins in the IMCA Modifieds and IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars at Outagamie Speedway powered by Eastern Wiscon­sin Stock Car Racing. 

Justin Ritchie jumped to the lead from his front row starting spot in the Modified main. La­Crosse quickly raced to second and set his sights on Ritchie. 

With both drivers working the top groove, LaCrosse was forced to the bottom. Lap after lap, LaCrosse gained ground, eventually pulling even for the top spot. 

With five laps remaining, LaCrosse took the lead from Ritchie and never looked back, scoring a popular win. Ritchie had his best run of the season to place second.   

Kurt Olson led the first six laps of the Stock Car feature until Chaz Van Ooyen raced by for the top spot. Van Ooyen’s reign up front didn’t last long as Eric Arneson slipped by on lap eight. 

After starting in row six, LaCrosse raced into the top four midway through the contest. With Arneson running low, LaCrosse took his Joe White prepared no. 11 to the top groove, blasting around Arneson with seven laps remaining. 

LaCrosse went unchallenged the remainder of the contest. Arneson had to settle for second. 

Cody Schroeder scored the win in the Karl Kustoms Northern Sport Mod fea­ture. Matt Brehmer won his second feature in a row in the Mach-1 Sport Compacts.

Rookie Vlies cashes in at Outagamie Speedway 

By Edward Anschutz SEYMOUR, Wis. (Aug. 18, 2023) – A rookie driver cashed in big Friday at Outagamie Speedway’s $1,000 to win special for Friesen Performance IMCA Northern SportMods. Tyler Demars set the pace on the opening laps. A caution on lap four allowed rookie Coy Vlies a shot at Demars and he took it. As the field took the green, Vlies threw a slider going into turn one and made a clean pass for the lead. Vlies was able to keep the field at arm’s reach the rest of the way to score the win and a $1,000 payday for his efforts. Jordan Jahnke placed a solid second, Dylon Waldvogel placed third and Matt Radtke was fourth.   The first 17 laps of the Friesen Performance IMCA Modified headliner clicked off quickly as Marcus Yarie paced the field. Mullen, Wilson are first at Outagamie fair  

By Edward Anschutz SEYMOUR, Wis. (July 22, 2022) – Mike Mullen and Tyler Wilson were IMCA winners Friday at Outagamie Speedway. Wyatt Block set the pace early in the Friesen Performance IMCA Modified 20-lap feature while Mullen set up shop on the outside groove. Mullen use his momentum to take the top spot on lap five, then distanced himself from the field and leaving the battle for second between Block and Jayden Schmidt. Mullen had the race in hand but a caution with five laps remaining reset the field. Schmidt began to pressure Mullen using the low groove. With two laps remaining, Schmidt worked past Mullen out of turn two but the caution flew, erasing the pass and giving the lead back to Mullen. On the final restart, Mullen switched to the low groove and held off Schmidt to earn his third feature win of the season. Hansen begins title defense with Outagamie checkers

By Edward Anschutz SEYMOUR, Wis. (May 20) – One hundred and twenty-nine cars checked in to do battle for the first point night of the season Sunday at Outagamie Speedway. Defending champion Travis Hansen dominated the Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMod feature, leading every lap en route to the victory. Lucas Lamberies was second and Robby Thiel placed third. Josh Long paced the IMCA Modified field until Mike Mullen took the top spot away on lap eight. Long’s hope to regain the lead went up in smoke as his car broke and coasted to the infield. Mul­len pulled away, capturing the win with a clean sweep of the night. Benji LaCrosse had to settle for second while Brian Mullen was third. Eric Arneson led the caution-slowed IMCA Sunoco Stock Car feature until Mike Coel slipped by down low on lap 10 to secure the top spot.
