MARSHALLTOWN, Iowa (May 31) – Karl Kustoms Northern SportMods vied for a $500 top prize Friday at Marshalltown Speedway and Brayton Carter took home the top check in a photo finish.

Thirty-one cars battled in an 18-lap main event that saw both Carter and runner-up Cory Rose come from the ninth row.

The final laps turned out to be a barnburner with Johnathon Logue, Rose and Carter battling it out in an epic duel.  All three drivers would hold momentary leads through those final circuits, but as they crossed the finish line, the win went to Carter in a photo finish.

Rose was second by inches and Logue was a close third.  Fourth went to Carter VanDenBerg and Tyler Inman was fifth after starting 15th.

Marshalltown Speedway got back to racing after having its last four scheduled events scrapped by the weather. 

The IMCA Modified win went to Joel Rust, Jeff Aikey won in the IMCA Late Model ranks, Todd Reitzler went to the winner’s circle in the IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars and Shannon Anderson made a return to victory lane in the IMCA Hobby Stocks.

IMCA Stock Cars will chase $5,000 top prize at Marshalltown Speedway’s King of the Highbanks

MARSHALLTOWN, Iowa (April 8, 2022) – The fabled highbanks of Karl Auto Group Marshalltown Speedway are the setting for the $5,000 to win King of the Highbanks special for IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars next Thursday and Friday, April 14 and 15. Stock Cars will run two sets of heats on Thursday with the top 10 in points locked into Friday’s main event. IMCA Frostbusters start season at Marshalltown, Boone

MARSHALLTOWN, Iowa (April 4, 2023) – Frostbuster action for four IMCA divisions gets the 2023 season started this week at Marshalltown Speedway and Boone Speedway.  Friesen Performance IMCA Modifieds race for $1,000 to win, IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars for $750 to win Thursday, April 6 and Friday, April 7 at Marshalltown, and Saturday, April 8 at Boone. Feature winners all three nights become eligible to qualify for Fast Shafts or B & B Racing Chassis All-Star Invitationals. IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stock and Friesen Performance IMCA Northern SportMod features each night pay $500 to win. Murty scores again, Meyer wins first of season at Marshalltown

By Joyce Eisele MARSHALLTOWN, Iowa (July 1, 2022) – It was Capital Sign Company Night at the Races at the Marshalltown Speedway Friday evening and over 130 cars filled the pits for a full night of racing.  Dallon Murty put his Friesen Performance IMCA Modified in victory lane again and it was Steve Meyer going to the winner’s circle in the IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars. Jenae Gustin got a popular win in the Friesen Performance IMCA Northern SportMods and John Watson took the Sunoco IMCA Hobby Stock victory.  Joe Glick won the IMCA STARS Mod Lite feature and Kolby Sabin had the field covered by a big margin in the IMCA Mach-1 Sport Compacts. Twenty-three drivers were on hand for the STARS Mod Lites. They ran a 20 lap feature that paid $100 just to start, thanks to an anonymous donor.
