Meyer resumes winning ways at Off Road

NORFOLK, Neb. (Aug. 18) – In front of the largest crowd ever at Off Road Speedway, national Mach-1 Sport Compact point leader Ramsey Meyer returned to his winning ways with a narrow victory over Parker Vollbrecht on Saturday night.

After starting at the back of the field, the two held a race-long battle for the lead before Meyer se­cured his 10th win in 11 nights at Norfolk.

Jeremy Hoskinson, won his second straight IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stock feature. The victory was his third locally of the season and concluded a 15-lap race affected by several cautions, including one that forced the repeat of a green-white-checkered finish in which Hoskinson held off Cameron Wil­kinson at the finish line.

Eric Haase battled Karl Brewer for the lead during the first dozen laps of the Karl Chevrolet North­ern SportMod main before Brewer broke. On the ensuing restart, Robbie Thome took the lead coming out of turns three and four, then held it for the final eight laps to notch his second win of the season at Off Road Speedway.

TeJay Mielke won his third consecutive IMCA Sunoco Stock Car feature, and fifth of the season at Off Road, by leading 15 of the 18 laps and pulling away from the field during a caution-free race.

Starting position doesn’t hinder Off Road Speedway winners

(June 20) – Brian Osantowski’s journey to the checkered flag was a bit longer than most of his Karl Kustoms Northern SportMod competitors, but what matters is that he got there.  Starting on the inside of the sixth of eight rows Saturday at Off Road Speedway, Osantowski didn’t get to the front until the 12th of 16 scheduled circuits.  Osantowski then held off bids from two other drivers who also started near the back, Kyle Prauner, who finished second after winning last week, and Colby Langenberg, who added a third place finish to a win and second-place finish the first two weeks of the season. “My car’s been working really good right now through the center where the traffic’s not at, so I can pick them off where they’re not racing, “ Osantowski explained. “That’s how I made it forward when I needed to, I just went where they weren’t, and that got me up to the front where I could work with the leader,” he said.   Eric Vanosdall won [Read More]

Wilkinson Express keeps rolling at Off Road Speedway

(June 25, 2022) – The Cameron Wilkinson Expressed rolled to victory lane for the sixth time in eight starts this season at Off Road Speedway.  Wilkinson hurried to the front of Saturday’s IMCA Sunoco Stock Car field from deep in the starting lineup, this time from the sixth row, requiring just six laps to take the lead from Justin Berschinger, who had inherited the front position after early leader Ron Pettitt left with car trouble. Austin Brauner took second place and Tejay Miellke finished third. James Roebuck won a Friesen Performance IMCA Northern SportMod feature for the third time at Off Road Speedway by wresting the lead from Wes Hochstein coming out of turn four with 12 laps left. Roebuck then held off pressure from eventual second-place finisher Colby Langenberg and Mitch Coble.

Brothers battle in IMCA Stock Car feature at Off Road

(May 22) – Saturday’s IMCA Sunoco Stock Car feature at Off Road Speedway became a battle between Neligh’s Wilkinson brothers, Kyle and Cameron.  Kyle moved quickly from the outside of the second row into the lead during the first lap and Cameron needed just four laps to find his brother’s rear bumper, even while navigating a group of cars often traveling three- and four-wide in the backstretch. “I knew he was there, I kept on seeing his nose,” Kyle said. “I was trying everything I could not to let him around me.” Cameron had his chances with four cautions during the race’s final 12 laps, but eventually followed Kyle to the checkered flag in second place.
