McCollum scores first Northern SportMod win

ARLINGTON, Minn. (Aug. 3, 2022) – Opportunity knocked and Elijah Zevenbergen answered Wednesday night at Arlington Raceway.  The second-running Zevenbergen dove from the top of the track to the bottom following a late restart, taking the lead from Jim Horejsi and ultimately taking the $2,500 checkers in the Sibley County IMCA Sunoco Stock Car Shootout.  Already eligible to qualify for the B & B Racing Chassis All-Star Invitational, Zevenbergen was the fifth different leader in the 25-lapper and crossed the stripe ahead of Horejsi and Curt Lund.  Michael Jaennette had drawn the pole and ran in front of Jeffrey Larson before spinning out of first. Larson’s turn at the front ended with turn two troubles that saw him exit for the pits. Lund inherited the lead, surrendering the point three laps later to Horejsi, who stayed in charge until the lap 22 restart.  Tim Pessek and Tim Johnson rounded out the top five. ARLINGTON, Minn. (July 21) – Karl Hewitt Jr. clinched the Eckblad Trucking IMCA Hobby Stock feature Saturday at Arlington Raceway as he led from start to finish. Hewitt was challenged by Cory Probst for 11 of the 12 laps but on lap 10, Probst dived into turn one and spun himself around causing a caution flag. He restarted at the tail and in the following two laps was able to move up to fifth. That caution gave Brad Becker a little breathing room as he challenged Hewitt for the next two laps but had to settle for second ahead of Mike Christensen. Brandon Beckendorf was the MN 93 IMCA Modified winner and Trevor Serbus topped the IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Car feature by a straightaway. Rick Mees has gotten back and dirt and got his first B&B Racing Chassis IMCA Stock Car victory of the season. Matt Looft scored the Unhinged Pizza IMCA Northern SportMod victory and Scott Porter paced the Coors Light IMCA Sport Compact main.

ARLINGTON, Minn. (July 15, 2023) – Trevor Serbus was again victorious in the Henderson RoadHaus Dan Grams Memorial feature for IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Cars Saturday at Arlington Raceway. Serbus drew the outside front row start and ran up front the total distance to win the race and $1,000.  There was a red flag on the first lap when Michael Stien rolled over in the second set of turns. Bill Johnson got collected as well in and they were both out of the race. Brett Allen got the lucky dog award as he had gotten too high in turn two and fell off the back side of the track, losing several spots in the process, but the red was called and a complete restart occurred.
