Arlington Raceway hosts Aug. 1 Sibley County Shootout special

READING, Minn. – Justin Luinenburg would have liked to have gotten his career 100th IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stock feature win before his final race of the season, but he’s happy things worked out the way they did. Luinenburg collected the landmark checkers Saturday at Arlington Raceway, when the Sept. 23 season championship program doubled as a night to honor the late Scott Schoknecht. “It was nice to get my 100th win on that night,” said Luinenburg, from Reading, Minn. “I knew Scotty pretty good so it was special to win at his memorial race.” The victory was Luinenburg’s 23rd of the season and 71st in the last three years. ARLINGTON, Minn. (Aug. 24) – Josh Larsen led the entire B&B Racing Chassis IMCA Stock Car feature to pick up his first career win in the class Saturday at Arlington Raceway.  By the 18th lap, Larsen got a bit high in turn four as he was going around lapped traffic and slid off the track a bit but was able to recover and maintain his spot. Matt Speckman was working to challenge and got up to second before mechanical troubles putting him in the pit.  After that, A.J. Zimmerman stayed right behind Larsen to take second ahead of Dan Mackenthun, who had started 10th. The MN 93 IMCA Modifieds put on a flag-to-flag race with three-wide racing throughout the 20 laps. The fast car on the track was piloted by Tyler Limoges, who got around five cars in six laps to take over the front spot and stay there for the duration. ARLINGTON, Minn. (May 28, 2022) – Matt Looft joined another of IMCA’s most exclusive clubs Saturday night at Arlington Raceway.  Looft won for the 200th time in his Friesen Performance IMCA Northern SportMod career, becoming just the 16th driver in the sanctioning body’s modern era began in 1979 to achieve that feat.  “This wasn’t something I ever expected to be able to do,” the Swea City, Iowa, driver said the next day during a break from making ice cream for son’s Brysen’s fourth birthday party. “It took me like three years to get my first win in a ‘B’ mod.
