JEFFERSON, S.D. (Aug. 11) – On a beautiful night in the Siouxland, it was the beautiful white number seven IMCA Modified of Jay Noteboom rolling into victory lane at Park Jefferson Speedway.
With his win, Noteboom tied Joe Kosiski at the top of the all-time win list at the Park Jefferson Speedway with 73 total checkers.
There was no denying Noteboom, who started sixth, but in just two laps flew by front row starters Jason Schneiders and Harvey Vande Weerd to fly to a lead he would never relinquish. Noteboom opened a huge lead that was up to 8.5 seconds at one point.
Greg Taylor was the J&J Fitting IMCA Stock Car winner and Andy Hoffman posted a convincing victory in the Z98 IMCA Hobby Stock main.
Cody Thompson outran hard charger Karl Brewer for the Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMod checkers. Andrew Harris and Kaytee DeVries had a spirited battle to wrap up the Sport Compact point season at Park Jeff. Andrew Harris, who was dominant all year, got past DeVries to pick up his sixth Mach-1 Sport Compact win of 2018.
On Park Jefferson Intern night, a huge shoutout went to 2018 intern Aaron Van Voorst, who coordinated the entire program of candy toss, car ride alongs for kids, bike giveaways and school supplies to thrill the crowd on season championship night.
JEFFERSON, S.D. (June 2) – Park Jefferson Speedway hosted the IMCA Racing Series featuring the Road to the Iron Cup for Z98 IMCA Hobby Stocks on Saturday and when it was all done, it was the familiar 8X of Andy Hoffman standing in the winner’s circle $375 richer. On a bone dry track, Hoffman came from the third row to roar by front row starters Kevin Bruck and Paul Menard. Rusty Montague was second with Kevin Bruck finishing third. (July 22) – Richie Gustin had to rate Monday’s Arnold Motor Supply Dirt Knights Tour main event as a “10.” Gustin won his IMCA Modified tour career best 10th feature at Park Jefferson Speedway, following his opening night tour checkers with a second consecutive Dirt Knights victory. Already on the Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot, Gustin earned $1,500. Jesse Sobbing got the best of Josh Most in a lengthy battle behind Gustin to finish second. Early leader Most ended in third. Rounding out the top five were Joel Rust and Chris Abelson. Rust had won his ‘B’ feature and started 13th; hard charger Shane DeMey started 19th and ended in seventh. The second installment of the 2019 tour brought 37 IMCA Modifieds, representing seven states, to town. JEFFERSON, S.D. – Seven thousand dollars is the top prize at the richest IMCA Modified race in South Dakota, Park Jefferson Speedway’s seventh annual Iron Cup special Friday and Saturday, Aug. 7 and 8. Qualifying starts on opening night with the 2021 Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot qualifying main event set for night two. A race of states is also on the Friday program, with one Modified driver from each state represented at Park Jefferson selected by random draw to compete in a $500 to win event.
