Park Jefferson Iron Cup pays $1,500 to IMCA Modified, Stock Car winners

JEFFERSON, S.D. – IMCA Modifieds and IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars both battle it out in $1,500 to win main events at Park Jefferson Speedway’s Monday, July 1 Iron Cup.

The sixth annual Iron Cup is presented by J&J Fitting and the Modified feature is a qualifying event for the 2019 Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot. 

Also on the card are IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks and Karl Kustoms Northern SportMods racing for $700 to win, Mach-1 Sport Compacts for $200 to win and the Sprint Series of Nebraska. 

Pit gates open at 4:30 p.m. and the grandstand opens at 5 p.m. for the third installment of the Arnold Motor Supply Midwest Madness Tour. Hot laps are at 6:15 p.m. and racing starts at 7 p.m. 

Grandstand admission is $18 for adults, $15 for seniors, $5 for children ages 6-16 and free for five and under. Pit passes are $30. A clubhouse pass is an additional $12 to any grandstand ticket or pit pass.

IMCA Modifieds chase $5,000 check at Park Jefferson crown jewel Iron Cup

JEFFERSON, S.D. – The eighth annual running of the IMCA Iron Cup at Park Jefferson Speedway is coming on Aug. 9-10. One of the crown jewels of racing in Siouxland, the pursuit for coveted Iron Cups brings very fierce competition to Park Jefferson Speedway. Monday, Aug. 9 will feature the preliminary night of action as IMCA Modifieds run a format that mirrors the Marshalltown Speedway World Nationals. Marriott prevails in Park Jefferson IMCA Arnold Motor Supply Dirt Knights feature

JEFFERSON, S.D. (July 23) – A driver from Missouri was first to the checkers when the Arnold Motor Supply Dirt Knights Tour for IMCA Modifieds made its first-ever visit to South Dakota. Hunter Marriott topped the $2,000 to win main event Monday night at Park Jefferson Speedway, putting his name on the Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot for 2019 with his career fifth tour victory. Ricky Thornton Jr.’s record streak of three straight tour wins came to an end with a second-place finish. Kyle Strickler, Joel Rust and Chris Abelson rounded out the top five. Forty-three touring Modifieds from 11 states vied in front of a big crowd at Jefferson, on hand for just the second tour event held outside Iowa. Joel Rust was the very early leader before 2016 tour champion Abelson took charge. Park Jefferson’s rich Iron Cup pays $7,000 to IMCA Modified winner

JEFFERSON, S.D. – Seven thousand dollars is the top prize at the richest IMCA Modified race in South Dakota, Park Jefferson Speedway’s seventh annual Iron Cup special Friday and Saturday, Aug. 7 and 8.  Qualifying starts on opening night with the 2021 Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot qualifying main event set for night two. A race of states is also on the Friday program, with one Modified driver from each state represented at Park Jefferson selected by random draw to compete in a $500 to win event. IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars race for $1,000 to win both nights. IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks race for $400 to win, Mach-1 Sport Compacts for $150 to win on Friday.
