Dan Michonski led every pap of Saturday’s $1,000 to win IMCA Sunoco Stock Car feature at Shawano Speedway.

SHAWANO, Wis. (Aug. 11) – Sometimes it all just comes together.

Nary a caution flag flew all night Saturday at Shawano Speedway as fans were treated to top-notch, on-track action.

Dan Michonski brought home his third feature win to obtain the big $1,000 payday before a stout IMCA Sunoco Stock Car field full of multi-feature winners, track champions and national champi­ons.

Michonski was the class of the field, though, and led every lap en route to victory. The racing be­hind Michonski was hot and heavy with Travis Van Straten finishing second, Trent Nolan third, Gary Kasperek fourth, and Shawn Wagner fifth.

Lance Arneson advanced 10 spots for his second IMCA Modified feature win of the year while Lucas Lamberies scored Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMod win number six, holding off Kyle Rad­dant to accomplish the feat.

Van Straten wins third straight at Shawano

By Scott Owen SHAWANO, Wis. (July 13) – Halloween at the Half Mile had no tricks, just treats for Travis Van Streten, Konnor Wilinski and Jordan Bartz. Van Straten outdueled Dan Michonski for his third straight Shawano Speedway IMCA Sunoco Stock Car feature win while Wilinski scored his first IMCA Modified feature of the season and Bartz got Karl Kustoms Northern SportMod win number three.   The Stock Car feature saw Kurt Olson lead the opening two laps before Michonski snuck past.  On lap five, Van Straten got around Olson and into second. As has consistently been the case lately, Michonski and Van Straten began a duel for the lead.  Van Straten took the lead on lap seven working the lowest line on the track. Michonski took the lead back on lap eight running the highest line. They continued to battle door-to-door on lap nine with Van Straten holding the lead on the lap.  Over the next 11 laps, Van Straten had his hands full as Michonski worked high and low trying to a find a way back to [Read More]

Wilinski, Forstner, Schmidt all repeat at Shawano

(Aug. 15) – It almost felt like déjà vu all over again Saturday as Konnor Wilkinski, Chucky Forstner and Jayden Schmidt returned to victory lane for the second week in a row at Shawano Speedway.   Lap one of the IMCA Modified feature saw Kevin Feck go from third to first to lead the field. As Feck led, Wilinski began to work through traffic after starting 10th. Shawano checkers fly for Stankowski

SHAWANO, Wis. (July 22, 2023) – There were some new faces in victory lane at the legendary half-mile Shawano Speedway Saturday night. Up first was the IMCA Sunoco Stock Car division and the man of the hour would be Mitch Stankowski as he jumped to an early lead from sixth starting and into the lead by two. Travis VanStraten and Dan Michonski followed in what became a three-car breakaway. Stankowski held his ground, fought off the challenges of his fellow competitors and was not denied as he raced his no. 5 to victory lane. “It’s nice to win and I want to do it again,” he said. “We definitely have a lot of stout competition here.” As the checkered flags flew at the line in the $3,000 to win Friesen Performance IMCA Modified feature it was Johnny Whitman, Mike Wedelstadt, Mike Mullen and Konnor Willinski finishing in that order.
