SEYMOUR, Wis. (July 15) – Brian Mullen made his move to the front on the final circuit in winning Sunday’s IMCA Modified main event at Outagamie Speedway.
An opening lap wreck in the open wheel headliner sent point leader Mike Mullen down pit lane with damage and he did not return. J.J. Andersen then led from the drop of the green until lap six when Konnor Wilinski took away the top spot.
Wilinski paced the field, running up top as Mullen worked through the pack. Mullen began to close with five to go. Mullen made his move as the white flag flew, diving under Wilinski for the lead, the win and top spot in the point standings.
Kyle Frederick collected the IMCA Sunoco Stock Car checkers and Cody Schroeder raced past Cole Mangin with four laps remaining to win the IMCA Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMod feature.
Michael Brehmer came out on top in the Mach-1 Sport Compact main.
By Scott Owen SEYMOUR, Wis. (July 22) – Lance Arneson aced the Sunday feature for IMCA Modifieds at Outagamie Speedway. Trevor Spaulding vaulted to the early lead before Kyle Kudick and Jamie Schmidt made it a three-wide battle for the lead. Brekken Kleinschmidt passed Schmidt to move to third while Arneson advanced to fourth on the sixth circuit. Kudick, Kleinschmidt, and Arneson fought for second as Spaulding held the point position. Arneson had his car pinned to the inside line and pulled even with Spaulding on lap 12, then took the lead the next time around. Arneson never looked back en route to victory. Kudick finished a strong second, with Johnny Whitman making a late-race charge to third. Jason Czarapata and Wyatt Block completed the top five. Brandon Czarapata led from lap three to the checkers in winning the IMCA Sunoco Stock Car main while Kyle Raddant ran in front from just the 18th circuit on in topping the Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMods. By Edward Anschutz SEYMOUR, Wis. (June 21) – Mark Schuenemann paced the opening laps of the $1,000 to win IMCA Modified feature Friday at Outagamie Speedway before defending track champion Marcus Yarie came to call. Yarie took the lead from Schuenemann and set sail, going unchallenged for his first local feature win of the season and pocketing the $1,000 payday. Already on the Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot, Yarie won the green to checkered contest ahead of Schuenemann, Mike Mullen, Brian Mullen and Jerry Wilinski. Former national champion Travis Van Straten raced to the lead on lap one of the IMCA Sunoco Stock Car headliner. After starting in row five, Eric Arneson worked to the runner-up position by lap five using the top groove. Arneson set his sights on Van Straten, pulling even with him on lap eight. A lap later, Arneson took the lead and never looked back, earning his first feature win of the season. Van Straten stayed close but had to settle for second, Chas Van Ooyen was third, Jeremy Christians took fourth and point leader Josh Mroczkoski rounded out the top five. The contest ran caution-free. By Joe Verdegan SEYMOUR, Wis. (May 17, 2024) – Josh Mroczkowski’s IMCA Sunoco Stock Car feature win at Outagamie Speedway Friday night was beyond impressive for a couple of reasons. For starters, the Krakow racer’s margin of victory at the checkers was a mere .028 seconds. What’s more, Mroczkowski fought off a pair of former IMCA national champions to the line in the process – Pulaski drivers Rod Snellenberger and Brandon Czarapata. Mroczkowski started inside row two of the 20 lap contest and wrestled the lead away from Keegan Van Ooyen on lap four. As the laps clicked off, Snellenberger and Czarapata, who started in the fifth and sixth rows, respectively, began methodically picking off their opponents one-by-one and began to gradually reel in the Krakow Ace. A late race caution bunched up the field, and despite Snellenberger’s best efforts Mroczkowski beat Snellenberger at the line by mere inches. The margin was so close the finish had to be confirmed by transponder scoring. Snellenberger settled for runner-up money, with Czarapata, Nick Buckarma and Devin Snellenberger [Read More]
