DODGE CITY, Kan. (June 30) – After starting deep in the field, Angel Munoz motored to the IMCA Sunoco Stock Car checkers on mid-season championship night at Dodge City Raceway Park.

Munoz became the first three-time winner of the season at Dodge City, ultimately fending off Troy Burkhart to take top honors in the 15-lap feature.

Munoz gridded the feature ninth and waded through three and four-wide traffic to take command by the fifth lap. Burkhart charged into second after a lap nine caution and turned on the heat on Munoz to see which one would become the first three-time winner of the year.

Burkhart edged ahead briefly on the 10th lap only to have Munoz counter and recapture the point for keeps.  Munoz raced to the stripe ahead of Burkhart with Chris Oliver, Dusty Witthuhn and Greg Schell rounding out the top five.

Clay Sellard was the IMCA Modified winner and Robert Elliott paced the IMCA SportMods. Ta­than Burkhart topped the IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stock main.

URSS vs. DCRP Sprint Car Showdown reset for July 2

(May 22) – Originally slated to kick off the 2020 racing season at Dodge City Raceway Park, the URSS vs. Precise Racing Products DCRP Sprint Car Showdown has been reset for Thursday night, July 2. The event has been postponed on a pair of occasions due to ongoing restrictions resulting from the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic, with the track now set to officially get things under way on Saturday, June 20, with Armed Forces Night featuring the Hobby Stock Roundup.  The July 2 date for the URSS vs. DCRP Sprint Car Showdown will feature a complete card of championship chase action that will also include the IMCA Modifieds, IMCA SportMods, IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars and IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks. IMCA RaceSavers chase big payday at Dodge City Sprint Car Nationals

DODGE CITY, Kan. (Feb. 27, 2024) – IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Cars get top billing and race for a lot of dollar bills at Dodge City Raceway Park’s April 5-6 Sprint Car Nationals. The opening weekend event for the United Rebel Sprint Series sees the winged warriors race in qualifying heats and features on Friday. Last-chance races and a king of the hill pole shuffle for the top eight qualified cars precede the $5,000 to win, minimum $400 to win main event on Saturday. Also on opening night, IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks and Friesen Performance IMCA Northern SportMods race for $500 to win and Mach-1 Sport Compacts for $250 to win. Friesen Performance IMCA Modifieds chase a $1,000 payday and Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational qualifying eligibility on Saturday. IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars run for $500 to win that evening. IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National, regional, track and state points will be awarded. Pit passes are $35 each night. Dodge City Raceway Park mid-season championships this Saturday

By Lonnie Wheatley DODGE CITY, Kan. – The dirt will be flying at Dodge City Raceway Park this Saturday night as the 3/8-mile clay oval in southwest Kansas hosts the Mid-Season Championships.  With the title chases all heating up, the Precise Racing Products DCRP Sprint Cars, IMCA Modifieds, IMCA SportMods, IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars and IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stock will all battle it out. Saturday’s action that gets under way at 7:30 p.m. also offers $5 admission for those that are members of a church group and wearing their group’s apparel. Otherwise, general admission is $12 with children 11 and under admitted free when accompanied by an adult.
