Sabin takes first career win at Stuart

STUART, Iowa (June 29) – Kolby Sabin won for the first time in his Mach-1 Sport Compact career Friday at Stuart Speedway.

Sabin and Mitchell Bunch led the field to green. Sabin led the first two laps with Bunch pulling ahead for the next two circuits. Hunter Patrick threw his hat in the ring to lead lap five, but it was Curtis Miller mak­ing it four wide and taking over the top spot for laps six and seven.

After falling as far back as fourth, Sabin shot from third to the lead on lap eight as he and Miller spent the rest of the race door to door for the win. Miller worked the high side hard, but each time it was Sabin at the stripe by a bumper and sometimes less than that.

Coming out of turn four on the last lap it was anyone’s race with Miller up high and Sabin in the middle of the track. Ultimately it was Sabin taking the win by about a foot at the line. Miller finished second with Bunch third.

Nick Roberts paced the IMCA Modifieds and Brock Badger was the IMCA Sunoco Stock Car winner.

Austin Luellen aced the Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMod main event and John Watson was first to the IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stock checkers.

Walrod Memorial checkers to Kinderknecht

STUART, Iowa (July 24, 2023) – Monday brought the Clint Walrod Memorial for suicide awareness to the Karl Chevrolet of Stuart International Speedway. IMCA winners for the night were Jake Paysen, Nick Roberts, Skylar Pruitt, Taylor Kuehl, Todd Shute and Justin Kinderknecht. Jake Paysen and David Kimmel paced the Mach-1 IMCA Sport Compacts for the first two laps when the red flag flew for third place running Owen Richards as he got upside down in turn one. Richards was ok but his night was over. Once the green came back out it was all Paysen to the checkers as he took the win. Kolby Sabin finished second with Stephen Stiteler third, Kimmel fourth and Curtis Masterson fifth. IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars came out next with Nick Roberts taking command early on. Stuart opens for 57th season

By Josh Reynolds STUART, Iowa (May 18) – The last couple circuits got interesting with lapped traffic, but Clint Luellen was able to hold on get the IMCA Modified feature win Friday, opening night for Stuart Speedway’s 57th season. Luellen passed Matthew Meinecke for the lead on the second lap. Josh Gilman finished second with Nick Roberts third, Meinecke fourth and Jeff James fifth. Marcus Fagan was the IMCA Sunoco Stock Car winner and Aaron Rudolph prevailed over a crowded field of IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks. Top honors in the Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMod main went to Austin Luellen and Curtis Mil­ler was promoted to the Mach-1 Sport Compact victory.

Rain at Stuart

IMCA racing is back next Wednesday, April 14, with IMCA Modifieds, IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars, Karl Kustoms Northern SportMods, IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks and Mach-1 Sport Compacts.
