IMCA Dakota Classic Tour point funds total $10,000

MANDAN, N.D. – Point funds totaling $10,000 will be paid to IMCA Modified and IMCA Sunoco Stock Car drivers in top 10 point standings for the upcoming Corral Sales IMCA Dakota Classic Tour. Courtesy of Hoosier Tire and IMCA, point fund amounts increase from $2,000 to $6,500 for the Modifieds and from $1,000 to $3,500 for the Stock Cars. The Modified champion earns $1,600, with $1,150 for second, $850 for third, $700 for fourth, $550 for fifth, $450 for sixth and $300 for seventh through 10th places. The Stock Car champion gets a $850 share of the point fund, with $625 for second, $475 for third, $400 for fourth, $325 for fifth, $225 for sixth and $150 for seventh through 10th. IMCA wins at 49th Stampede go to Arneson, Strand, Pavlicek, Medler

JAMESTOWN, N.D. (Sept. 25-26) – Winning the most prestigious race in North Dakota? Awesome. Getting to see your name on the T-shirt they’ll sell next September at the big Jamestown Speedway special? Almost as good. Austin Arneson added to his Stock Car Stampede trophy collection while Shawn Strand, Rich Pavlicek and Darren Medler all started theirs with feature wins at the 49th annual event. Arneson topped Friday’s $1,500 to win IMCA Modified feature and Strand joined him on the Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot with Saturday’s $2,000 checkers. Pavlicek and Medler both earned $1,000 for Karl Kustoms Northern SportMod victories. Fifty-five Modifieds vied both nights. Friday, Saturday features for IMCA Modifieds, SportMods at Stampede

JAMESTOWN, N.D. – The 49th annual Stock Car Stampede special wraps up the season at Jamestown Speedway Sept. 25 and 26 with features for IMCA Modifieds and Karl Kustoms Northern SportMods both nights. IMCA Modifieds race for $1,500 to win on Friday and $2,000 to win Saturday in their Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot qualifiers. Both races pay a minimum of $125 to start, with $200 paid to the leader on laps 2 and 22 both nights in honor of Don Gumke. Northern SportMod features pay $1,000 to win and a minimum of $100 to start. Both shows are draw/redraw. IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National and KMJ Performance State points will be awarded and Modifieds earn Side Biter Chassis North Central Region points as well. Kendall chases O’Neill to Jamestown checkers

JAMESTOWN, N.D. (July 11) – Runner-up Billy Kendall III was the talk of the town Saturday night at Jamestown Speedway. Kendall raced from 10th starting and battled Jeff Taylor and Jacob Bleess before chasing Jake O’Neil to the checkers in round two of the Dakota Classic Tour for IMCA Modifieds. Wheeling a home-built car, Kendall swapped the second with, and then had the former tour champion close behind as he pursued O’Neill. Blees ended in fourth, Kelsie Foley fifth. A lap 16 restart opened the door for Elijah Zevenbergen to continue his winning ways in the IMCA Sunoco Stock Car half of the tour. Arneson adds Don Gumke Racers’ Memorial win at Jamestown to IMCA Modified resume

JAMESTOWN, N.D. (June 13) – An IMCA Modified driver with a knack for winning big races won another of them Saturday night at Jamestown Speedway. Austin Arneson led all 30 laps in topping the Don Gumke Racers’ Memorial while Jason Grimes finished second in Gumke’s no. 2 car, which had come out of the Arneson shop. “It’s pretty cool any time you can win a memorial race, especially when you knew the guy,” said Arneson. “I’m proud to say I’ve accomplished this. It means a lot to me to have won this race.” Arneson had drawn the pole and Grimes the outside front row start for the inaugural special. Don Gumke Racers’ Memorial set for Saturday at Jamestown

JAMESTOWN, N.D. – Jamestown Speedway remembers a legend on and off the track at its first annual Don Gumke Racers’ Memorial this Saturday, June 13. IMCA Modifieds race for $2,222 to win their Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot qualifying feature. Contingency awards of $222 will be paid to the leaders of laps two and 22, the hard charger and the long tow. Main event qualifiers also earn a minimum of $222 with $122 paid to non-qualifiers. Pit gates open at 4 p.m. and the grandstand opens at 5:30 p.m. Cutoff for the draw is 6 p.m. and racing starts at 7 p.m. IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National, Side Biter Chassis North Central Region and North Dakota State points, but no track points will be awarded. Berry rides hot streak on the way to opening night Dakota Tour checkers

(July 6) – Tom Berry Jr. has been on fire in North Dakota this season, grabbing five wins in June and seven total victories in weekly races and special events this year. Berry’s eighth IMCA Modified victory of the season was by far the biggest, as the opening circuit of the 30th annual Kupper Chevrolet Dakota Classic Modified Tour at Jamestown Speedway ended up in his hands, along with a $2,400 check and Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot berth. 2014 tour champion Jeff Taylor and 2014 Jamestown winner Justin O’Brien led the 29-car field to green. Jeff Taylor’s car did not fire correctly following an early restart and he fell back and retired from the field. This gave O’Brien the lead on a track where he has had past success. 30th annual Kupper Chevrolet Dakota Classic Tour starts Saturday in Jamestown

JAMESTOWN, N.D. – IMCA Modified and IMCA Sunoco Stock Car drivers from 12 states and Canada have already pre-registered for the 30th annual Kupper Chevrolet Dakota Classic Tour. The tour starts its six consecutive day run Saturday, July 6 at Jamestown Speedway. The Tour then goes to Nodak Speedway at Minot on Sunday, July 7. On Monday, July 8, the series travels across the international border to Estevan, Sask., Motor Speedway. Williston Basin Speedway is the next stop on Tuesday, July 9. The series then heads to Southwest Speedway in Dickinson on Wednesday, July 10. Arneson, Krogh have adversaries’ numbers at Jamestown Stampede

JAMESTOWN, N.D. (Sept. 22) – Numerologists in the grandstand had to enjoy the outcome of IMCA Modified and Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMod main events Saturday at Jamestown Speedway’s Stampede. Casey Arneson, driving the number 2 car, topped the $2,000 to win Modified main event while Luke Krogh rode the number 47 Northern SportMod entry to the winner’s circle at the 47th annual event. Arneson had top-three finishes in two previous starts at Jamestown. (July 7) – The 29th annual Kupper Chevrolet Dakota Classic IMCA Modified Tour got underway Saturday at Jamestown Speedway with a familiar name in victory lane as two-time and defending champion Hunter Marriott, picked up the opening night win in convincing fashion. Marriott took the point as the race resumed after an early restart with Mark Dahl and John Corell in tow. Several cautions plagued the opening circuits, but once the race endured a green flag stretch, Marriott checked out. Seventh starting R.C. Whitwell quickly moved into the second spot as Dahl and Corell continued to battle. Marriott reached lapped traffic at the halfway point, but by then he had already established a full straightaway lead over Whitwell. Seeming effortlessly, Marriott sliced through the dense traffic before increasing his advantage in the final stages.
