Nezworski returns to Davenport victory lane

By Mike McGuire DAVENPORT, Iowa (April 27) – Andy Nezworski collected a much anticipated victory in Petersen Plumbing & Heating IMCA Late Model action on opening night Friday at Davenport Speedway. Nezworski led all 25 laps of the race, despite pressure from Nick Marolf early and Chad Holladay in the final laps. Nezworski’s last win at Davenport came May 30, 2014. Holladay took second, ahead of Rob Toland, Matt Ryan and Chuck Hanna. Rob Toland led the Eriksen Chevrolet IMCA Modified feature for all of 50 yards, the last 50. Toland drove under race leader Eric Barnes in the final corner of the race and sprinted to the checkered flag. Toland had started eighth and slowly worked his way to the front. Deery Brothers Summer Series opens Friday with Rebel 5K at Davenport

DAVENPORT, Iowa – The longest running Late Model Series in the Midwest is back in action and a top prize of $5,000 is on the line when Davenport Speedway hosts opening night for the Deery Brothers Summer Series this Friday, April 13. The Rebel 5K is the first of 13 dates for the 32nd annual IMCA Late Model tour and pays a minimum of $300 to start. Along with the big check, the winner goes home with the top spot in national, state and special series standings. Pit gates at the Mississippi Valley Fairgrounds open at 4 p.m. and the grandstand opens at 5 p.m. Hot laps are at 5:45 p.m. with racing to follow. Spectator admission is $20 for adults, $18 for seniors and students, and free for kids ages 12 and under. Deschamp Shines in Stock Car Thriller at Nodak Speedway

(Apr. 27, 2025) — Sunoco IMCA Stock Cars took center stage at Nodak Speedway’s season opener, and the 3/8-mile “Playground of Power” delivered thrilling side-by-side action on a crisp Sunday evening. Chris Tuchscherer, the 2005 Williston Basin Stock Car champion and double-duty driver for the night, grabbed the early lead. However, two-time defending track champion Will Scheresky found a way around him by lap 4 and began pulling away before a caution slowed the field on the fifth circuit. On the restart, Gabe Deschamp — fresh off a win at Marshalltown’s Frostbuster earlier in the month — tracked down Scheresky and completed a bold move on the inside to take command on lap 6. The two would battle fiercely until another yellow interrupted the action. Deschamp nailed the restart and continued his dominance, but Mike Hagen soon emerged as a threat. (Apr. 26, 2025) — Myron DeYoung proved the high side was the fast lane at Crystal Motor Speedway, using a late-race move to claim his first Friesen Performance IMCA Modified win of the 2025 season — and extend one of IMCA’s most impressive streaks. With the victory, DeYoung has now won at least one IMCA Modified main event in each of the last 31 consecutive seasons, continuing a remarkable run that spans more than three decades. Jaycob Truemner grabbed the initial lead after a spirited battle with Jerry Hunt.
