Docekal dials up SportMod Challenge win at Davenport 

DAVENPORT, Iowa (June 8) – Joe Docekal dialed up the $2,000 feature win at Davenport Speed­way’s Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMod Challenge Friday night. The 50-lap main event started with Troy Bauer taking the lead from a front row starting spot. After a lap 11 restart, Dalton Simonsen, made his bid for the lead on the high side. As Bauer moved up to block the move, Tony Olson dove to the bottom and took away the lead. Olson, the 2016 SportMod Challenge winner, then led the next 30 laps. The final restart came on lap 44 and allowed Docekal to drive around Olson for lead. Docekal led the remaining laps for the win. Gage Neal also passed Olson in the final laps to finish se­cond. Davenport paying $2,000 to IMCA SportMod Challenge winner

DAVENPORT, Iowa – Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMods vie in a $2,000 to win main event on Friday, June 8 at Davenport Speedway. The IMCA SportMod Challenge will use a draw/redraw format and IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National and Iowa State points will be awarded for the draw/redraw show. Pit gates open at 4:30 p.m. and the grandstand opens at 5 p.m. Hot laps are at 5:45 p.m. with racing to follow. Spectator admission is $15 for adults, $13 for seniors and students, and free for kids ages 12 and under. Pit passes are $30. Three get first IMCA wins of season at Davenport

By Mike McGuire DAVENPORT, Iowa (June 1) – The Davenport Speedway kicked off the month of June in style Friday with three IMCA drivers collecting their first local feature wins of the season. In Petersen Plumbing & Heating IMCA Late Model action, Chuck Hanna stole the show. Hanna easily won his heat race and then dominated the feature, leading 23 of the 25 laps. Hanna took the lead from Joe Ross on lap three and never looked back. Matt Ryan moved up through the field to record a second place finish. Joe Ross, Andy Nezworski and Rob Toland, com­pleted the top five. The Eriksen Chevrolet IMCA Modified feature had a similar story. A lap six restart gave Eric Barnes the opportunity to pass Craig Crawford for the lead. Barnes led the rest of the way. Toland doubles up at Davenport 

By Mike McGuire DAVENPORT, Iowa (May 25) – Rob Toland made two trips to victory lane Friday night at Daven­port Speedway. Toland captured both the IMCA Late Model and the IMCA Modified features. In the Petersen Plumbing & Heating IMCA Late Model main, Joe Beal led lap one. After that, it was all Toland. Late in the race, Matt Ryan made things interesting as he passed Chuck Hanna for second, but didn’t have enough laps left to make a serious bid for the lead. Following the lead duo were Hanna, Chad Holladay, and Nick Marolf, in that order. The Eriksen Chevrolet IMCA Modified feature had a similar story. Derek Wilson grabbed the early lead from the pole. Wilson survived the first restart, but the second on lap five saw Toland go to the front. Rob led the rest of the way to the checkers. Bruce Hanford settle for second over Matt Werner. Ryan captures Davenport IMCA Late Model checkers 

By Mike McGuire DAVENPORT, Iowa (May 11) – Matt Ryan collected his first Petersen Plumbing & Heating IMCA Late Model feature win of the season at Davenport Speedway on Friday night. Ryan wrestled the lead from Chad Holladay on lap seven and led the rest to the checkers.  Lapped traffic and a caution flag gave Holladay a couple chances to get to Ryan’s bumper but he had to settle for second. Rob Toland finished a close third. Toland rolled to his second Eriksen Chevrolet IMCA Modified feature win of the season at Davenport. After an opening lap incident, Toland moved up to the front row for the restart.  That was all Rob needed. Toland sped away from the field and cruised to an easy victory. Bryce Garnhart finished second with Chris Zogg third. Dustin Schram won his first Hawkeye Auto IMCA SportMod feature this year. Andrew Burk edged out Brandon Setser for second.

IMCA Modified Madness at Davenport pays $2,000 to win

DAVENPORT, Iowa – IMCA Modifieds chase a top check of $2,000 along with a berth on the ballot for the Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational at Davenport Speedway’s Friday, May 18 Modified Madness 50 special. The main event pays a minimum of $100 to start. IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National, Side Biter Chassis North Central Region and Iowa State points, but no track points will be awarded. Modifieds are draw/redraw. There is a $50 entry fee. Pit gates open at 4:30 p.m. and the grandstand opens at 5 p.m. Hot laps are at 5:45 p.m. with racing to follow. Spectator admission is $15 for adults, $13 for seniors and students, and free for kids ages 12 and under. Pit passes are $30. IMCA Late Models and Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMods are also on the program that evening, vying for all points.  All racing will be on the quarter-mile oval. Kay rallies for Davenport Modified win 

By Mike McGuire DAVENPORT, Iowa (May 4) – Justin Kay raced from the back of the field to the checkers Friday at Davenport Speedway. Six  Eriksen Chevrolet IMCA Modifieds, one of them six driven by Kay, were involved in a first-lap inci­dent. Kay restarted at the tail of the field but several cautions later, took the lead after a lap 12 re­start. Kay led the remainder of the race to take victory. Kurt Kile worked his way to a second place finish. The Hawkeye Auto IMCA Northern SportMods saw a number of early yellows, however there would be no pass for the lead. Keith Blum started on the front row and survived all the restarts to score the victory. Jared Waterman finished second.

Nezworski returns to Davenport victory lane

By Mike McGuire DAVENPORT, Iowa (April 27) – Andy Nezworski collected a much anticipated victory in Petersen Plumbing & Heating IMCA Late Model action on opening night Friday at Davenport Speedway. Nezworski led all 25 laps of the race, despite pressure from Nick Marolf early and Chad Holladay in the final laps. Nezworski’s last win at Davenport came May 30, 2014.  Holladay took second, ahead of Rob Toland, Matt Ryan and Chuck Hanna. Rob Toland led the Eriksen Chevrolet IMCA Modified feature for all of 50 yards, the last 50. To­land drove under race leader Eric Barnes in the final corner of the race and sprinted to the check­ered flag. Toland had started eighth and slowly worked his way to the front. Deery Brothers Summer Series opens Friday with Rebel 5K at Davenport 

DAVENPORT, Iowa – The longest running Late Model Series in the Midwest is back in action and a top prize of $5,000 is on the line when Davenport Speedway hosts opening night for the Deery Brothers Summer Series this Friday, April 13. The Rebel 5K is the first of 13 dates for the 32nd annual IMCA Late Model tour and pays a mini­mum of $300 to start. Along with the big check, the winner goes home with the top spot in na­tional, state and special series standings. Pit gates at the Mississippi Valley Fairgrounds open at 4 p.m. and the grandstand opens at 5 p.m. Hot laps are at 5:45 p.m. with racing to follow.
