Davenport IMCA Stock Car special sports $2,000 top prize

DAVENPORT, Iowa (May 10, 2023) – When the checkers fly Friday night at Davenport Speedway, the IMCA Sunoco Stock Car main event winner will make his or her way to victory lane to accept a trophy and a $2,000 check. The May 12 feature for The Class Too Tough To Tame also earns the winner B & B Racing Chassis All-Star Invitational qualifying eligibility. A minimum of $250 will be paid to start that race with IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National, EQ Cylinder Heads Northern Region and Iowa State, but no track, points to be awarded. DAVENPORT, Iowa (March 20, 2023) – Three IMCA divisions join Friday and Saturday Thaw Brawl shows at Davenport Speedway. Friesen Performance IMCA Modifieds run for $600 to win March 24 and 25, while IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars and Friesen Performance IMCA Northern SportMods chase $500 top checks both nights. IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National, Razor Chassis North Central and EQ Cylinder Heads Northern regional, and Iowa State points will be awarded. Muscatine Mall to host pre-season race car show

By Jerry Mackey MUSCATINE, Iowa (March 13, 2023) – The 2023 racing season In Eastern Iowa is just around the corner and the Muscatine Mall will be hosting a pre-season race car show to rev up the enthusiasm for the season in our area. Drivers from around the area will have their shiny new 2023 race cars on display in the Muscatine Mall starting at 10 a.m. on Saturday, March 18. Race fans of all ages will have the opportunity to see the cars up close and will meet the drivers and crews and can ask all about their race teams and get autographs. DAVENPORT, Iowa – A pair of $1,000 to win features for IMCA Modifieds are on Thursday, Aug. 26 and Friday, Aug. 27 Weekend Bash race programs at Davenport Speedway. Winners of both events become eligible to qualify for the Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational, with a minimum of $100 paid to start and $75 tow. Karl Kustoms Northern SportMods also race both nights, for $750 to win, a minimum of $75 to start and $50 tow. IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National, Side Biter Chassis North Central Region and KMJ Performance State points will be awarded both nights. Pit gates open at 2 p.m. and the grandstand at 5 p.m. with hot laps at 6:30 p.m. and racing to follow. Pit passes are $35 on Thursday and $40 on Friday. $250 Sunoco bonus Friday night in Davenport

VINTON, Iowa – Extra money is on the line for the potential winner of the main event for IMCA Sunoco Late Models this Friday at Davenport. The next installment of the $250 Sunoco Race Fuels bonus will be paid to the August 13 Late Model winner at Davenport Speedway. Sunoco bonuses will be presented at IMCA Late Model sanctioned tracks in 2021. Drivers are eligible for one bonus during the racing season. Winners so far this year have been Matt Ryan at 300 Raceway in Farley, followed by Sean Johnson at Independence Motor Speedway, Andy Eckrich at 34 Raceway in West Burlington, Ron Klein at Dubuque Speedway, Kyle Prauner at U.S. 30 Speedway in Columbus, Chase Osborne at Boone County Raceway in Albion, Brock Carlson at Off Road Speedway in Norfolk, and most recently to Dave Eckrich last Friday night at Lee County Speedway in Donnellson. IMCA will announce mid-week before the dates bonuses are to be awarded at each track.

Nezworski, Diercks top rich Davenport IMCA features

By Mike McGuire DAVENPORT, Iowa (April 23, 2021) – Friday was Koehler Electric Season Opener at the Davenport Speedway. With extra money on the line in two divisions, the competition was intense. The IMCA Sunoco Late Models provided the closest finish of the evening. Their 25-lap feature started with Andy Nezworski grabbing the early lead from the pole. Nezworski built up a lead until the caution flags started to fly on lap eight. Chuck Hanna used the race’s final restart to propel himself up to second and then used the high side to reel in Nezworski. As the leaders encountered lapped traffic, Hanna drew alongside the leader. At the checkers, it was Nezworski by mere inches over Hanna. Justin Kay fended off Matt Ryan for a third place finish. Fred Remley was a distant fifth.
