DAVENPORT, Iowa (April 24, 2026) — After two consecutive rainouts, Davenport Speedway was finally able to get the 2026 campaign started Friday. Knoxville native Curtis Glover made the trip pay off with a victory in the Sunoco IMCA Late Models.

Glover took the lead midway through the 25-lap main event. Late in the race, he began to pull away from the field to secure his first win of 2026. Dustin Smith made a late-race charge to finish second after starting 16th. Cruz Birkhofer drove from 10th to finish third, while Logan Veloz and Andy Nezworski rounded out the top five.

Nezworski, Veloz, and Bryce Garnhart won the heat races.

The Karl Kustoms IMCA Modifieds put on a dandy of a feature. In the first half of the 20-lapper, Rayce Mullen and Charlie Mohr raced side-by-side and nose-to-tail for the lead, with Mullen holding the advantage.

Over the final 10 laps, Spencer Diercks made it a three-way tussle for the top spot. Mullen led through lap 17 before Mohr took over a lap later. Coming to the white flag, Diercks held the lead, but on the final circuit, Mohr found grip on the bottom and came away with his first win of 2026 in the Razor Chassis North Central Region and his first Davenport victory since 2024.

Diercks finished second with Mullen third. Brandon Durbin was fourth and Jace Eckrich fifth.

Jarrett Franzen brought home his first Davenport win of the season in the Karl Kustoms IMCA Northern SportMods. Franzen started sixth and battled Cole Stichter for the lead on lap six. He then had to hold off Ben Chapman late in the race to secure the victory.

Behind Chapman were Levi Heath, Josh Starr, and Stichter, in that order.

The return of the Sunoco IMCA Stock Cars saw a wild finish. Jacob Ellithorpe had dominated the race, but after taking the white flag, he lost a driveshaft. That brought out a caution and set up a green, white, checkered finish.

On the restart, Jordan Miles led at the white flag, but had trouble in turn two, allowing John Oliver Jr. to rocket into the lead at the checkers. Oliver had not run higher than fourth all race until the final two laps. It was his second win of the year in the EQ Cylinder Heads Northern Region and his second win of the week after a Tuesday victory at Independence Motor Speedway.

Greg Gill was credited with second, while David Brandies recovered from an early caution to finish third. Kodey Miles was fourth and Jordan Miles ended up fifth.

Karter Miles scored his first-ever Davenport feature win in the Sunoco IMCA Hobby Stocks, as well as his second B&B Racing Chassis Northern Region victory after a Tuesday win at Independence. Miles led flag-to-flag for the victory. Carson Butt started sixth and closed in a couple of times but settled for second. Matt Bennett finished third, followed by Levi Paris and Jason Schutterle.
