Kilgore dominates 141’s Red, White and Blue Series

By Greg Aregoni FRANCIS Creek, Wis. (Aug. 8) – Shawn Kilgore has earned accolades in his racing career and as of Saturday he can add Red, White and Blue Series champion to the list. Kilgore picked up the Xtreme Motor Sports IMCA Modified win in the finale of the series. He earned two victories and a second place finish in the three-race swing. Kilgore receives a crate motor from Gandrud Chevrolet for his efforts. He also won $1,210 for his Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot qualifying victory. What proved to be the race-winning move was at the drop of the green flag. Kilgore made quick work of the field as he jetted from his outside front row starting spot and into the lead. Reeves is super in Tri-State Modified main

Rob Nugent POCOLA, Okla. (Aug. 8) – Anthony Reeves took home the trophy following his first Xtreme Motor Sports IMCA Modified win of the season Saturday at Tri-State Speedway. Van Gemmill finished second for the second week in a row, ahead of Jason Payton. The IMCA Sunoco Stock Car feature saw Brent Grover capture his first win of the season in front of Keith Heaslet and Joshua Vaughn. In the IMCA SportMod main event, Cody Rongey took home his second win of the season ahead of youngster Kayden Menasco as Alan Goforth crossed the line in third.

Shryock scores abbreviated All Star Night win at Britt

BRITT, Iowa (Aug. 8) – The rainbow stretching over the backstretch at Hancock County Speedway led Kelly Shryock to an $8,800 jackpot. After starting deep in the field in Thursday and Friday features at Britt, Shryock led every lap of Saturday’s Xtreme Motor Sports IMCA Modified All Star Night feature shortened from 50 to 36 circuits because of rain and slick track conditions. Mark Elliott started ninth and found the fastest line up top. He had closed on Shryock before the sudden checkers flew. Kyle Brown, Benji LaCrosse and Hunter Marriott followed the front pair across the stripe. Ruter reels in LaCrosse for Night of 10,000 Stars honors

BRITT, Iowa (Aug. 7) – The stars aligned Friday night at Hancock County Speedway for Ryan Ruter. Ruter passed Benji LaCrosse with 10 laps left in the Night of 10,000 Stars main event for Xtreme Motor Sports IMCA Modifieds, then stayed in front to the finish for a $9,000 payday. LaCrosse, the 2013 race winner and last year’s runner-up, led most of the 50-lapper before getting caught behind a lapped car in the second set of turns. Ruter shot to the lower line for the lead, then pulled away in traffic. “Benji had about a half a straightaway lead when I saw him move up. BRITT, Iowa (Aug. 6) – Another big Xtreme Motor Sports IMCA Modified event ended with Mike Mullen’s name on the Pay To The Order Of line of another big check. Mullen worked his way up from 15th starting and took the lead from Jesse Hoeft following the mandatory pit stop at midway, then led the last 25 laps of Hancock County Speedway’s Night of 1,000 Stars special. Including lap money, the victory was worth $4,750 to Mullen. $1,000 to win IMCA Modified feature headlines rich Murray County Fair show

SLAYTON, Minn. – More money is on the line for all four IMCA divisions running next Friday, Aug. 14 at Murray County Speedway. The county fair program pays the Xtreme Motor Sports IMCA Modified winner $1,000 and is a 2016 Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot qualifying event. Bonuses of $500 for the Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMod winner and $250 for the IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stock winner will be given by Sturdevant’s Auto Supply of Slayton. The IMCA Sunoco Stock Car winner also earns a $250 bonus. Top four finishers in the Hobby Stock feature also will be entered in a drawing for an additional $500. TIPTON, Iowa – What’s developed into a traditional doubleheader for two IMCA special series plays out again next Tuesday at Cedar County Raceway. Both the Deery Brothers Summer Series for IMCA Late Models and Hawkeye Dirt Tour for Xtreme Motor Sports IMCA Modifieds are on the Aug. 11 card at Tipton. The Deery feature pays $3,000 to win and a minimum of $300 to start while the Dirt Tour feature pays $1,000 to win and a minimum of $150. The two series have shared a Cedar County date each of the last three seasons. Brunson Behning was fastest in a field of 19 IMCA Late Models and earned $2,000.
