
Holladay tops IMCA Late Model opener at West Liberty
By Jerry Mackey WEST LIBERTY, Iowa (April 23) – The 2016 IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing point season got underway Saturday night at West Liberty Raceway. The track was extremely fast on a nice night for the opening night racing action. Chad Holladay served notice to his fellow iWireless IMCA Late Model competitors that he is going to be a contender for the West Liberty Raceway 2016 track championship. Holladay advanced from his third row start to overtake race leader Rob Toland on lap 15 en route to the 25-lap feature win. Toland crossed the finish line in second ahead of Andy Eckrich. Dakota Hayden found the high line to be very fast around the big half-mile. Hayden topped the very tough Performance Concepts IMCA Modified division with the 20-lap feature win. Larry Herring turned in a fine run in coming home second ahead of Kurt Kile.
