
Droste nips Goedert for win at Dubuque
By Jerry Mackey DUBUQUE, Iowa (June 5) – The Out Pace Racing Products IMCA Late Model feature thrilled the fans with plenty of exciting wheel to wheel action Sunday at Dubuque Speedway. Luke Goedert took the lead from early race leader Jerry King and appeared to be on his way to his first local win of 2016 but Tyler Droste had other ideas. Droste took the green in the 10th position and steadily worked his way to the front in the 25-lap feature that ran caution-free. Droste used both the high line and the extreme low side on his way to the front. Droste led the field under the white flag and then lapped traffic was a factor on the last circuit. Goedert ran the high line in turn four and Droste dove low and was able to get to the checkers taking the win by a mere couple of feet.
