Dirt Track work already underway for IMCA Duel In The Desert Nov. 9-12

LAS VEGAS, Nev. – One hundred and twenty trailer loads of new material have already been added to the half-mile Dirt Track and Las Vegas Motor Speedway’s Tim Richter says drivers can look forward to a smooth racing surface at the Nov. 9-12 Duel In The Desert. “We added a little before our spring race. Ritchey races to Laurel Highlands checkers at Bedford

By George Horner BEDFORD, Pa. (Sept. 17) – Drew Ritchey led all 20 laps of Saturday’s Laurel Highlands Sprint Car Series feature at Bedford Speedway. The Fall Fest victory was Ritchey’s second IMCA EMI RaceSaver Sprint Car series victory of the season. Joe Zap was second and Reed Thompson finished third. Zap and Ritchey started on the front row with Ritchey out front from the get-go. The field swapped spots throughout the contest, with Scott Lutz and Roger Irvine completing the top five. URSS national finale is Saturday at Jerry Soderberg Memorial

DODGE CITY, Kan. – The final race in the 2016 Myers Racing Engines National Points has the United Rebel Sprint Series headed back to Dodge City Raceway Park for the fourth annual Jerry Soderberg Memorial this Saturday, Sept. 24. Taylor Velasquez will be going for his third Jerry Soderberg Memorial win in a row; Zach Blurton captured the inaugural event win in 2013. Racing action begins at 7 p.m. with Xtreme Motor Sports IMCA Modifieds, IMCA SportMods, IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars and IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks joining the Sprints. General admission is $20 with children 11 and under admitted free when accompanied by an adult. So far in the 10 races of the Myers Racing Engines National Championship there have been six different winners with Luke Cranston taking three feature victories. Blurton and Brian Herbert each garnered a pair of wins. Jason Martin, Steven Richardson and J.D. Johnson each picking up single wins this season.

Mr. Excitement 40 this Saturday at Canyon Speedway Park

JAMESTOWN, N.D. – Xtreme Motor Sports IMCA Modifieds return to the Stock Car Stampede at Jamestown Speedway this weekend, racing for $2,000 to win and a minimum of $300 to start. Heat races begin at 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 23 with “B” features preceding the Saturday, Sept. 24 main event, a qualifier for the 2017 Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot. Beckendorf races to Rucks Memorial win

ARLINGTON, Minn. (Sept. 17) – Four different drivers took turns at the front of the MN 93 IMCA Modified Jeff Rucks Memorial feature before Brandon Beckendorf took the Saturday night checkers at Arlington Raceway. Jerry Wren was scored first on the first circuit. Mark Noble made his way to the front before eighth starting Tyler Limoges drove by. Following a restart, Beckendorf caught Noble for second; another yellow gave Beckendorf the edge he needed to get by Limoges. Beckendorf led the last three laps. Blurton covers URSS field at Colorado Motor Sports Park

BYERS, Colo. (Sept. 17) – Zach Blurton had the field covered when the United Rebel Sprint Series rolled into Colorado Motor Sports Park for a Colorado Region points battle Saturday night. Pole starter Todd Plemons led the first 12 circuits before Blurton reeled him in. There was no change in the front five before Justin Medlock made the pass as the white flag flew, relegating Plemons to third. When the checkers fell it was Blurton picking up his fifth win of the 2016 URSS season with Medlock and Plemons rounding out the top three. Noteboom, Zeitner score Modified gold at Park Jefferson’s Iron Cup

JEFFERSON, S.D. (Sept. 17-18) – Jay Noteboom returned to a track he’s raced at for 20-plus years to win the Iron Cup opening night Xtreme Motor Sports IMCA Modified feature and $1,000. Justin Zeitner returned from his honeymoon to win the second night show and $1,000 of his own at Park Jefferson Speedway. Both drivers earned spots on the Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot with their victories. YREKA, Calif. – Siskiyou Motor Speedway’s Saturday, Sept. 24 Rod Restad Memorial boasts a $3,000 check for the winner of the Xtreme Motor Sports IMCA Modified main event. The Restad Memorial is a qualifier for the 2017 Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot. The runner-up earns $2,000 with $1,000 paid for third. The $100 entry fee includes car and driver. All applicable IMCA points will be awarded. Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMods are also on the program.
