RPM hosts IMCA Hughes Sunflower Classic this weekend

HAYS, Kan. – The first green flag of the new season flies when RPM Speedway opens with its Mike ‘Huey’ Hughes Sunflower Classic on Friday and Saturday, March 29 and 30. IMCA Modifieds run for $1,000 to win each night at Hays. Both features are qualifying events for the Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot. Also running both nights are IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars for $750 to win, IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks and Karl Kustoms Northern SportMods both for $500 to win. Stampede tire samples tested

VINTON, Iowa – Testing of tire samples taken at the Southern Stampede have determined both to conform with benchmarks for the Hoosier IMCA G-60 tire. Samples were taken at Southern Oklahoma Speedway from tires of IMCA Modified feature winners Jason Hughes and Ricky Thornton Jr. Testing was conducted at Blue Ridge Labs in North Carolina. “The nature of enforcing rules regarding the chemical treatment of tires is time consuming, tedious and can be expensive on a widespread scale,” noted IMCA President Brett Root, “but it’s important for our members to know it is an issue we constantly monitor and enforce.” “It’s easy for rumors and speculation about cheating to end up in the court of public opinion through social media channels,” he added. “Our member drivers want to know and demand to know we’re testing.” “They need to have faith in our system and know that the winners of our most prestigious events are not cheating,” concluded Root. “This is an excellent example of that.”

IMCA Modifieds to headline Arkansas Spring Nationals

BATESVILLE, Ark. – IMCA Modifieds run for $2,000 to win and Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot berths on both nights of Batesville Motor Speedway’s Friday and Saturday, March 22 and 23 Arkansas Spring Nationals. Noll goes with what he knows to get IMCA All Star Night win

SAN TAN VALLEY, Ariz. (March 16) – Going back to the drawing board got Jason Noll back in victory lane. Noll topped Saturday’s All Star Night main event for IMCA Modifieds at Arizona Speedway, outrunning hard-charging Kelsie Foley for the $1,000 checkers. “It was a really racy track,” said Noll, already on the Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot. “It was fast if you could hit the top right and the bottom in (turns) one and two was really good.
