
RPM hosts IMCA Hughes Sunflower Classic this weekend
HAYS, Kan. – The first green flag of the new season flies when RPM Speedway opens with its Mike ‘Huey’ Hughes Sunflower Classic on Friday and Saturday, March 29 and 30. IMCA Modifieds run for $1,000 to win each night at Hays. Both features are qualifying events for the Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot. Also running both nights are IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars for $750 to win, IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks and Karl Kustoms Northern SportMods both for $500 to win. Mach-1 Sport Compacts race for $200 to win on Saturday. IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National, regional and E3 Spark Plugs Kansas State points will be awarded at the seventh annual event. Pit gates open at 3 p.m. and racing starts at 6 p.m. on Friday. Gates open at noon and racing gets underway at 5 p.m. on Saturday.
