AFCO renews awards for six IMCA divisions

BOONVILLE, Ind. – The company IMCA drivers have already counted on for the past quarter-century returns for a 26th season of support in 2019. AFCO will continue a rich awards program benefitting IMCA Modified, IMCA Late Model, IMCA Sunoco Stock Car, IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stock, Karl Kustoms Northern SportMod and Smiley’s Racing Products Southern SportMod competitors. Awards from the Boonville, Ind., suspension, exhaust, brakes and cooling parts manufacturer will be presented during the national IMCA banquet in November or mailed beginning the following week from the IMCA home office. The top three eligible drivers in each of the five Modified regions receive product certificates valued at $250, $150 and $50, respectively. Top three eligible drivers in both Stock Car regions receive certificates worth $200, $100 and $50. U.S. 36 cancels Rumble in the Bullring

OSBORN, Mo. – With rain in the forecast for race day on March 29, U.S. 36 Raceway officials have made the decision to cancel the Rumble in the Bullring. Both IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Cars, running in the Sprint Series of Nebraska opener, and IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars were on the Friday program. The opening night for U.S. 36 will now be on April 5 and feature IMCA Modifieds, IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Cars, IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars and Karl Kustoms Northern SportMods.

Brodix awards cylinder head sets to top IMCA Late Model, Deery Series, Sprint Car rookies

MENA, Ark. – Three IMCA drivers earning rookie of the year honors earn post-season awards as well from Brodix in 2019. The Mena, Ark., company gives cylinder head sets to national IMCA Late Model and IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Car rookies of the year, and to the Deery Brother Summer Series rookie of the year. Those awards will be presented during the national banquet in November. Duke delivers opening night PASS feature win

SPRING RUN, Pa. (March 23) – 2016 Pennsylvania Sprint Series champion Ken Duke Jr. gave notice that he’ll be in the hunt for a second championship in 2019, winning the season-opening feature event Saturday at Path Valley Speedway. Duke made a low-side pass of Kyle Ganoe just past the halfway mark in the race and worked lapped traffic over the final circuits to grab the IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Car win. Ganoe held on for a runner-up finish, followed by hard-charging John Walp, Jeff Weaver and Devin Adams. Ganoe had grabbed the early lead from the pole, with outside front row starter Dave Grube spinning on the first lap. That moved Cale Reigle into second and that pair led the field for the first nine laps until a red flag for Kyle Keen’s tip-over after an incident with Austin Graby. IMCA Modifieds on Saturday card at Southern Raceway

MILTON, Fla. – Southern Raceway throws the green flag Saturday for the first race of the season in IMCA’s Dirt Works Eastern Region. IMCA Modifieds race for $500 to win the March 30 main event at Milton. IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National, E3 Spark Plugs Florida State and track points, as well as regional points will be awarded. Pit gates and the grandstand open at 4 p.m. Hot laps are at 6 p.m. and racing starts at 7 p.m. Grandstand admission is $15 for adults, $12 for seniors and military, $9 for students ages 13 to 17, $5 for kids ages six to 12 and free for five and under. McCrady takes charge at Dubuque Speedway, Sunday shows will feature five IMCA divisions

DUBUQUE, Iowa – New promoter Nick McCrady has a to-do list that starts with putting on an entertaining race program each and every Sunday this race season at Dubuque Speedway. “This is an awesome facility and we’re excited to work with the fair board here. Chevrolet Performance pays cash bonuses to crate engine powered IMCA track champions

GRAND BLANC, Mich. – For a 15th consecutive season, IMCA drivers competing exclusively with crate engines and winning track championships will receive cash bonuses from Chevrolet Performance. Eligible IMCA Modified, IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stock, Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMod and Smiley’s Racing Products Southern SportMod drivers winning track championships will earn bonuses of $250 while tracks sanctioning any combination of those divisions and displaying Chevrolet Performance banners become eligible for cash bonuses of their own. One hundred and seventy-four track championship-winning IMCA drivers earned shares of a record $43,500 in bonuses paid in 2018. Chevrolet Performance bonuses totaling more than $280,000 have been paid since the crate engine bonus program began with Northern SportMod cash awards in 2005. That program expanded to include Modified, Hobby Stock and Southern SportMod divisions, then began paying track championship bonuses in 2010.
