Eibach Springs adds STARS Mod Lites to post-season IMCA awards program

CORONA, Calif. – STARS Mod Lites become the latest addition to Eibach Springs’ post-season awards program with IMCA. KMJ Performance state champions in the newest sanctioned division, as well as IMCA Modifieds, IMCA Sunoco Late Models, IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars, IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks, Karl Kustoms Northern SportMods and Smiley’s Racing Products all receive $100 certificates from the Corona, Calif., manufacturer. Drivers in those divisions become eligible to win a drawing for a set of four springs; a first-time state champion also received an Eibach-branded fire suit. Dustin Stuart, the first-ever Stock Car state champion crowned in Arkansas, won the drawing for the fire suit held last season, when 58 of the 110 state champions raced to career-first crowns. Gould, local veterans are big winners in All Star Shootout finale at Heart O’ Texas

WACO, Texas (May 30) – William Gould and organizations assisting veterans in the Waco area were big winners on the night before Memorial Day at Heart O’ Texas Speedway. Gould raced from 12th to win the All Star Shootout fueled by Fast Shafts IMCA Modified main event, earning $1,000, plus $500 bonuses for his second All Star win of the week and $250 for perfect attendance throughout the five-race Shootout. And local veterans’ groups will be getting $2,660, the amount raised in the evening’s Modified drivers’ auction. Gould gaveled at $400 and, appreciating the buyer’s confidence, told him to keep what would have been his share, half those proceeds. Cordes has record-breaking night at the Bullring

VINTON, Iowa (May 30) – Troy Cordes made a little history Sunday night at the Benton County Speedway Bullring. Not only did he score his third straight win and fourth in five weeks in the KISS Country 96.5 IMCA Modifieds, he became just the third driver in track history to earn 60 wins on the quarter-mile. From a fifth row start, Cordes worked the high groove to perfection and found himself in contention at the midway point. He made his way around leader Ryan Maitland and set sail on the way to his career first three-race winning streak at the Bullring. Seventeenth starting Chris Zogg made a terrific run through the field and made a bid for the lead following a late caution, but ran second at the finish. KENNEDALE, Texas (May 29) – The hugs and high fives that followed Fred Wojtek’s All Star Shootout fueled by Fast Shafts feature win stemmed from his third place finish in his qualifying heat Saturday at Kennedale Speedway Park. Wojtek caught William Gould for the lead 11 laps into the IMCA Modified main event, then outran Gould and Jacob Pirkle to the $1,000 checkers. “We weren’t too good in the heat. We changed a spring and ball joint and good gosh, the car was like a different car (in the feature). BOYD, Texas (May 28) – The IMCA Modified William Gould sold five years ago put him back in the winner’s circle again Friday night at Boyd Raceway. Gould raced from the 10th starting spot to the lead midway through the All Star Shootout fueled by Fast Shafts headliner, then held off a pair of hard chargers in Jacob Pirkle and Jon White to the $1,000 checkers. “I like a fast track with more than one line and I like a short track,” Gould said. “This track was everything I like. MANDAN, N.D. – Mandan Stock Car Association board members were looking for “something different” when they came up with the idea of a 100-lap race for IMCA Modifieds. Now they’re looking forward to the same great things when Dacotah Speedway hosts its second annual $5,000 to win Iron Man 100 on Friday and Saturday, June 4 and 5. Presented by Jerome Distributing and Coors Light, the Iron Man 100 starts with heat races and a pair of 25-lap $1,000 to win qualifying events on opening night. By Whitney Hodgin DODGE CITY, Kan. – The June 4 weekend is shaping up to be a big one at Dodge City Raceway Park, where more than $35,000 in cash and prizes will be awarded on Driver/Fan Appreciation night along with the Boot Hill Championship two-day pointed event for IMCA Modified and Karl Kustoms Northern SportMod divisions. DCRP expects a packed house for the Driver/Fan Appreciation Friday night. On Driver Appreciation night, drivers are challenged to give away tickets to the races in a competition to be eligible for a drawing for prizes. PASS returns to Port Royal for Memorial Weekend show

By Frank Buhrman PORT ROYAL, Pa. – The storyline basket is overflowing as the Pennsylvania Sprint Series heads to Port Royal Speedway Saturday to join the program for Night One of the Bob Weikert Memorial. For starters, the May 29 show is set to be the IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Car series’ 10th race of 2021 and so far there have been no repeat winners. Five of those previous winners are expected to be at the Port, including Garrett Bard, who presents another choice story. The 2020 national and PASS champion, Bard earned his first 2021 win last weekend at Selinsgrove Speedway, and a win at Port Royal would move him into sole possession of second place among PASS winners there. ARDMORE, Okla. (May 27) – A fast-paced All Star Shootout fueled by Fast Shafts program at Southern Oklahoma Speedway ended with Matt Guillaume, Matthew Day and Jeffrey Abbey in victory lane. Hustling to beat bad weather, Guillaume was promoted to the $1,000 IMCA Modified checkers after Wesley Veal came up light on the post-race scales.
