Olson drives borrowed car to victory at Benton County Speedway

VINTON, Iowa (June 19, 2022) – One driver didn’t think he’d be able to race while another wasn’t sure he’d even make it to the track. Both ended up in victory lane in an unlikely turn of events Sunday at Benton County Speedway. After suffering extensive damage to his own ride Saturday night, Kyle Olson wasn’t planning on racing Sunday. That all changed when Brandon Tharp asked him to drive his car. Tharp, who underwent an emergency appendectomy early Sunday morning and was sidelined for the evening, offered his ride to Olson for Sunday’s racing program at The Bullring. By night’s end, both drivers were posing for victory lane photos after Olson raced Tharp’s #B21 to the winner’s circle in the Friesen Performance IMCA Northern SportMods. Kenawell Makes it a Double Weekend with Hagerstown win

HAGERSTOWN, Md. (June 18, 2022) – Stevie Kenawell stared the weekend winning with the Laurel Highlands Sprint Series at Dog Hollow Speedway and then followed it up at the Annual Dad’s Night Out weekend at Hagerstown Speedway by wiring the feature from pole to checkers. The Hagerstown event has been a highlight since the Laurel Highlands Sprint Series, PASS and Virginia Sprint Series got together at Hagerstown a few years ago for the once a year three series race. Kenawell and Dylan Shatzer paced the feature field to green and Kenawell took off with Shatzer in tow. The whole field was dicing for positions in all grooves behind them. Current, Roth among winners at Maquoketa Speedway

MAQUOKETA, Iowa (June 18, 2022) – Saturday, June 18th provided perfect weather for the racing action at Maquoketa Speedway. The Friesen Performance IMCA Modifieds 20-lap feature win went to fourth row outside starter Tim Current. Current wheeled his #12T to the front quickly taking the lead from Steve Johnson on lap number four. Current’s teammate Ryan Duhme ran second on Saturday night ahead of Travis Denning. A strong field of Friesen Performance IMCA Northern SportMods ran a caution-free 15 lap main event on Saturday night. Brown gets Modified win, Spaw stays hot at CJ Speedway

Brown chased down race leader Kurt Kile making the pass at the midway point of the feature and went to score the win ahead of Matt Werner and Kile. Johnny Spaw has made three visits to CJ Speedway in 2022 and has scored the win every time he has raced in the very tough IMCA Sunoco Stock Car class. Spaw took the lead early from Kenny O’Donnell and went on to score an impressive win ahead of Matt Picray, who advanced from the third row and scored his best finish of the season.
