BOONE, Iowa (June 14, 2022) – IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars will run for $2,500 to win at the Fox Welding/Vermeer King of the Katwalks presented by VanEaton Pork on Saturday, June 25 at Boone Speedway.
Total purse for the inaugural special is nearly $14,000 with the winner becoming eligible to qualify for the B & B Racing Chassis All-Star Invitational. The runner-up earns $2,000 with $1,500 paid for third, $1,000 for fourth, $750 for fifth, $500 for sixth, $450 for seventh, $400 for eighth, $350 for ninth, $300 for 10th and a minimum of $250 to start. Tow money is $75.
There is no entry fee for the draw/redraw show, to be broadcast by IMCA.TV. Pit passes remain $25.
“Loyal IMCA Stock Car racers have wanted an event at Boone Speedway other than Super Nationals to call their own,” said IMCA President Brett Root. “It’s great to have a one-day event of this magnitude with no entry fee and without having to travel 300-plus miles. We can’t thank Todd VanEaton enough for his support of this purse and for helping make this a reality.”
Fox Welding and Vermeer are located in Greenfield, VanEaton Pork in Orient.
IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National, EQ Cylinder Heads Northern Region, KMJ Performance State and track points will be awarded. Twenty-four cars qualify with provisionals awarded to the top two non-qualifying drivers in weekly points at Boone.
Pit gates open at 4:30 p.m. and the grandstand opens at 5:30 p.m. on race day. Hot laps are at 6 p.m. with the first green flag at 7 p.m.
