Inaugural $2,500 to win King of the Katwalks for IMCA Stock Cars set for June 25 at Boone

BOONE, Iowa (June 14, 2022) – IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars will run for $2,500 to win at the Fox Welding/Vermeer King of the Katwalks presented by VanEaton Pork on Saturday, June 25 at Boone Speedway.

Total purse for the inaugural special is nearly $14,000 with the winner becoming eligible to qualify for the B & B Racing Chassis All-Star Invitational. The runner-up earns $2,000 with $1,500 paid for third, $1,000 for fourth, $750 for fifth, $500 for sixth, $450 for seventh, $400 for eighth, $350 for ninth, $300 for 10th and a minimum of $250 to start. Tow money is $75. 

There is no entry fee for the draw/redraw show, to be broadcast by IMCA.TV. Pit passes remain $25. 

“Loyal IMCA Stock Car racers have wanted an event at Boone Speedway other than Super Nationals to call their own,” said IMCA President Brett Root. “It’s great to have a one-day event of this magnitude with no entry fee and without having to travel 300-plus miles. We can’t thank Todd VanEaton enough for his support of this purse and for helping make this a reality.” 

Fox Welding and Vermeer are located in Greenfield, VanEaton Pork in Orient.

IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National, EQ Cylinder Heads Northern Region, KMJ Performance State and track points will be awarded. Twenty-four cars qualify with provisionals awarded to the top two non-qualifying drivers in weekly points at Boone.

Pit gates open at 4:30 p.m. and the grandstand opens at 5:30 p.m. on race day. Hot laps are at 6 p.m. with the first green flag at 7 p.m.

McBirnie posts first IMCA Modified victory at Boone

By Joyce Eisele BOONE, Iowa (Aug. 15) – The IMCA Speedway Motors Super Nationals fueled by Casey’s are in sight, and the drivers are already prepping for the 38th annual event at Boone Speedway as 228 cars packed the pits on Saturday night that included an IMCA Sport Compact shakedown along with all of the regular divisions. Jake McBirnie grabbed the lead from Joel Bushore with a handful of laps in the books in the 20-lap main event for IMCA Modifieds. Just a lap later, it was 12th place starter Joel Rust who was challenging him for the lead. The two swapped the top spot back and forth for several laps until Rust suddenly pulled into the infield with mechanical issues.  McBirnie then pulled away from the field and took his career-first win in the division well ahead of second place Nick Meyer. Bushore took third. Mulligan draw adds pre-race excitement to Prelude

BOONE, Iowa – A mulligan draw sponsored by IMCA.TV will add pre-race excitement and money to purses paid for Modifieds, Stock Cars, Northern SportMods, Hobby Stocks and Sport Compacts at the Sept. 4 and 5 Prelude at Boone Speedway.  There is no entry fee for those divisions. If they wish, drivers can pay $20 before drawing their first pill; if they’re not happy with that number they can draw a second time and must keep that pill. All of the money generated by the Mulligan pill draw will be added to that division’s purse for the night. IMCA.TV then matches the proceeds generated in each division.  Complete shows for Modifieds and Stock Cars are on Saturday, complete shows for SportMods, Hobbies and Sport Compacts on Sunday.  The mulligan draw option won’t be available to STARS Mod Lite drivers, who run a two-day Super Nationals qualifying format during the Prelude.

B & B Chassis Stock Car All-Star Invitational guaranteed to be a Super Nationals highlight

BOONE, Iowa – A division that’s seen record car counts at recent IMCA Speedway Motors Super Nationals fueled by Casey’s crowns its first All-Star Invitational winner in 2021. Eighty drivers are now eligible to qualify for the B & B Chassis All-Star Invitational. Along with a check for $1,000, the winner of the inaugural event on Thursday, Sept. 9 at Boone Speedway receives a bare powder coated chassis valued at $4,800 from title sponsor B & B Chassis of Belle Plaine, Minn. In addition, $25 will be paid to the leader of each lap courtesy of Elmquist Towing of Ames.  Drivers who have won sanctioned events paying $5,000 or more – those who have pre-registered include Zane DeVilbiss, Dallon Murty, Devin Snellenberger, Jesse Sobbing and Collen Winebarger – are guaranteed starting spots with two rounds of Wednesday, Sept. 8 time trials completing the starting field of 30 cars.
