Clement is IMCA Modified star in Shootout opener at Ardmore

ARDMORE, Okla. (May 26, 2022) – A driver without a plan going into the opening night All Star Shootout feature for Friesen Performance IMCA Modifieds went home with $1,000 after it.  Mitchell Clement took charge following a restart at halfway, then held off a late challenge from William Gould in winning the Thursday night headliner at Southern Oklahoma Speedway. Jacob Pirkle found the fast line coming to the checkers to edge Gould for second-place pay. “I didn’t know what the track was going to do. I didn’t have a plan out there,” Clement admitted after his first feature win of 2022. “I knew the 60 car (Gould) would be coming. Friesen Performance IMCA Northern SportMod win streak helps launch Ruf into national top 20

By Janelle Bates  PRICE, Utah (May 20, 2022) – After racing his way to victory lane at Desert Thunder Raceway four straight nights, Matt Ruf raced his way into top 20 national standings for the Friesen Performance IMCA Northern SportMods. From Grand Junction, Colo., Ruf put together a streak of four straight wins at the Price oval, sweeping April 22-23 and May 6-7 doubleheaders. That string helped lift him to 18th in national standings released by IMCA last week. Ruf began racing in 2009. In addition to competing in the Northern SportMod division, he also raced in mini stock 4-cylinders and Smiley’s Racing Products IMCA Southern SportMods. He bought his first Northern SportMod in 2016 and now races in the division exclusively, starting the 2022 season at Cocopah Speedway’s IMCA.TV Winter Nationals. “My current car is a 2022 Razor Chassis built by Roth Racing Performance out of Platte Center, Neb.,” he said. I-76’s Smith Brothers Memorial boasts $1,000 IMCA Stock Car, Hobby winner’s checks

FORT MORGAN, Colo. (May 25, 2022) – Family and friends race and remember Zach and Dustin Smith Saturday, June 4 at I-76 Speedway.  IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars and IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks both race for $1,000 to win that evening, with the Smith Brothers Memorial Stock Car winner becoming eligible to qualify for the B & B Racing Chassis All-Star Invitational. Runners-up in each division earn $400, with $300 paid for third, $200 for fourth and $150 for fifth.  Friesen Performance IMCA Modifieds, Friesen Performance IMCA Northern SportMods and Mach-1 IMCA Sport Compacts are also scheduled. All divisions are draw/redraw with IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National, regional, KMJ Performance State and track points at stake. IMCA Modifieds chase $1,000 top check Sunday at Phillips County

HOLYOKE, Colo. (May 25, 2022) – A $1,000 to win feature for Friesen Performance IMCA Modifieds headlines the Sunday, May 29 program at Phillips County Raceway.  The winner becomes eligible to qualify for the Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational. Also on the evening’s card are IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars, IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks, Friesen Performance INCA Northern SportMods and Mach-1 IMCA Sport Compacts. All divisions are draw/redraw and IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National, regional, KMJ Performance State, track and Colorado Alliance Tour points will be awarded.  Gates open at 1 p.m. and the grandstand opens at 3 p.m. Hot laps follow the 4 p.m. drivers’ meeting and racing is at 5 p.m. Pit passes are $30. Opening night moves to Thursday for IMCA All Star Shootout

ARDMORE, Okla. (May 25, 2022) – Rain had the final word and resulted in rescheduling opening night of the IMCA All Star Shootout.  The lidlifter for Friesen Performance IMCA Modifieds, IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars and Smiley’s Racing Products IMCA Southern SportMods moves to Thursday, May 26 at Southern Oklahoma Speedway in Ardmore. The event originally scheduled that evening at Grayson County Speedway has been canceled. The Shootout is at Texas speedplants Boyd Raceway on Friday, May 27; at Kennedale Speedway Park on Saturday, May 28; and at Heart O’ Texas Speedway in Waco on Sunday, May 29.  Modifieds run for $1,000 to win and Fast Shafts All-Star qualifying eligibility each night. Sabin starts IMCA winners’ parade at Stuart Speedway

By Josh Reynolds STUART, Iowa (May 22, 2022) – Kolby Sabin started the parade of IMCA feature winners Sunday evening at Karl Chevrolet of Stuart International Speedway. Mach-1 IMCA Sport Compacts were the first sanctioned division on the speedway with Elijah Hoyt and Mitchell Bunch pacing the field. Hoyt led early with Bunch getting by on lap four. Bunch held the top spot until Sabin cruised by on lap eight.  Tyler Fiebelkorn followed Sabin into second but couldn’t close the deal as Sabin went on to the win. Fiebelkorn finished second with Bunch third. Josh Pruitt and Jeremy Gettler brought the IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars out with Gettler getting the advantage early on. Cautions on laps nine and 10 were the only thing slowing Gettler down as he led the distance to take the win. NY-Penn IMCA Modified Series at Penn Can for Memorial Weekend show

SUSQUEHANNA, Pa. (May 25, 2022) – The Memorial Weekend sees touring Friesen Performance IMCA Modifieds return to a familiar locale. Penn Can Speedway hosts round two of the Close Racing Supply NY-Penn IMCA Modified Series presented by Precision Hydraulic & Oil. The Sunday, May 29 main event pays $1,000 to win and a minimum of $100 to start. Winner of the 25-lapper at Susquehanna earns Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational qualifying eligibility. IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National, Dirt Works Eastern Region and KMJ Performance State points, as well as series points, will be awarded. Pit gates open at 5 p.m. and racing follows 6:45 p.m. hot laps. Pit passes are $40.  The NY-Penn Series show will be broadcast by IMCA.TV and DirtTrackDigest.TV.  Eddie Sites won the series opener on April 30 at Skyline Raceway Motorsports Park.

Mackenthun aces Arlington Stok Car feature

ARLINGTON, Minn. (May 21, 2022) – Great fans and great racers heated up the chilly temperatures Saturday at Arlington Raceway. There were several repeat feature winners but each event saw close, tight racing. Taylor Manderfield started in the front row of the IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stock feature and led four laps until hard-charging Cory Probst moved up from the last starting spot to take over the race. He had another clean sweep, winning his heat race and the feature. Melvin held on for second and Chad Volk moved up from his eighth place start to take third.  Justin Forcier started on the front row of the Mach-1 IMCA Sport Compact feature and, despite a yellow flag on the first lap, was able to lead the field around the track for six laps until 12th starting Nate Coopman moved to the front. Forcier lost his momentum and Coopman got around him to take over the race and the win.
