• Demo Sweeps Opening Two Nights of Beast of the East Showdown, Raffurty Closes Out Weekend

(Aug. 16, 2026) — After a year away from Mod Lite competition, Kyle Demo made his return known in a big way, sweeping the first two nights of the third annual OneGroup Beast of the East Showdown for Stealth Racing IMCA Mod Lites before Dillon Raffurty closed the three-race weekend with a victory Sunday at Weedsport Speedway. The three-night swing brought IMCA Mod Lites to Brewerton Speedway, Fulton Speedway, and Weedsport, with each feature paying $1,000 to win. Thirty-nine entries were on hand for each of the first two nights before the field grew to 42 for Sunday’s finale. Demo’s return to the division produced immediate results Friday at Brewerton.   • McBirnie Charges From 12th to Capture Boone Modified Feature
    By Jane Burd BOONE, Iowa (Aug. 15, 2026) — Jake McBirnie charged from 12th starting and emerged from a slider-filled battle with Owen Barnhill to capture the Karl Kustoms IMCA Modified feature Saturday night at Boone Speedway. Griffin Taylor grabbed the early advantage before losing power on lap four as a caution waved for a separate incident. Owen Barnhill inherited the lead for the restart and remained strong out front following another yellow. McBirnie, meanwhile, was steadily working his way through the field from the sixth row. The Boone driver eventually caught Barnhill, and the two went side-by-side while exchanging sliders for the top spot. Their battle continued until lap 17, when Barnhill got loose exiting turn two and McBirnie powered ahead.   • Laney Charges Late for Boone Modified Victory
    By Jane Burd BOONE, Iowa (Aug. 8, 2026) — Cody Laney used lapped traffic to his advantage in the closing laps to charge from ninth starting and score a dramatic Karl Kustoms IMCA Modified victory Saturday night at Boone Speedway. Paul Nagle paced the opening eight laps before a bobble in turn two on lap nine handed the lead to Colby Fett. Fett appeared headed for victory until lapped traffic came into play with two laps remaining. Laney, driving the Drew Janssen-built machine, capitalized by slicing through traffic to grab the lead on lap 18 and race away with the victory. The Torrance, Calif., driver earned his third win of the season. Matthew Meinecke paced the opening 13 laps before rear-end problems ended his bid for victory on lap 14, handing the lead to Mike Jergens.
