Harris Auto Racing Open House Returns Sept. 10 During Super Nationals

BOONE, Iowa (Aug. 27) – Another week, another record number of entries for the IMCA Speedway Motors Super Nationals fueled by Casey’s.  Registration opened on July 7 and Northern SportMod driver Travis Burger of Manhattan, Kan., became the first pre-entry. Modified driver Brent Dutenhoffer of Watertown, S.D., became the record 800th pre-registered driver this afternoon.  This is the earliest day early entry numbers for Super Nationals have hit that mark. The 800 entries this year continue to run about 60 ahead of the same time last August.  As of 3:30 p.m. Friday, drivers from 27 states and Canada are entered in the 39th annual running of America’s Racin’ Vacation® at Boone Speedway Sep. 6-11.  By division, entries include 214 Modifieds, 198 Stock Cars, 150 Northern SportMods, 124 Hobby Stocks, 63 Sport Compacts and 47 STARS Mod Lites.  That total now includes drivers from Arizona, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Florida, Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Mexico, New York, North Dakota, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, South Dakota, Texas, Utah, Washington and Wisconsin.  Late [Read More]

By Joyce Eisele BOONE, Iowa (July 24) – It was Christmas in July at the Boone Speedway on Saturday night and Santa himself was there to greet the youngsters. Christmas music filled the air and decorations were around every corner. However, the 90 degree temperatures didn’t feel like the holiday season!The IMCA STARS Mod Lites kicked off feature racing. At the end of the 15-lap race, it was Mike Kennedy standing in victory lane for the third time this season. Kennedy started 10th and ran down leader Cory Sonner by lap eight, but it wasn’t until that final lap that he was able to make the pass in turn two and go home to secure the win. Sonner had to be content with the runner up spot. Third went to fifteenth place starter Joe Glick, who was hard charger of the race. VINTON, Iowa (Aug. 1, 2024) – Ten more Friesen Performance IMCA Modified drivers have put their names on the Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational eligible list, with feature wins paying $1,000 or more. Tyrone Yazzie and Wyatt Howard were winners at Diamond Mountain Speedway’s Modified Mania. Casey Jo Gemmill collected the $1,000 checkers at Saltcity Racing and Russ Reinwald rocketed to the win at 141 Speedway’s white race. Aaron Turnbull ruled at Dacotah Speedway’s Governor’s Cup, Brandon Schmitt was a winner during Beaver Dam Raceway’s Stock Car Twin 25 and Chris Mills collected the big checkers at Interstate Speedway’s Dave Riley Memorial. Troy Cordes topped Benton County Speedway’s Urbana 5 special. Fair week winners at Dubuque County Fairgrounds Speedway were Ryan DeShaw and Jason Schueller.
