Side Biter Chassis in second season as sponsor of IMCA’s North Central Region

CLEAR LAKE, Iowa – Side Biter Chassis returns for a second season as title sponsor of IMCA’s North Central Region for Modifieds. The Clear Lake, Iowa, chassis builder is owned by veteran Modified driver Ryan Ruter and again provides part of the $6,000 point fund to be paid to top 10 drivers in the region that includes tracks in Illinois, Iowa, Minnesota, North Dakota, Saskatchewan, South Dakota and Wisconsin. Champion of the Side Biter Chassis North Central Region earns $2,500, with $1,250 for second, $625 for third, $325 for fourth, $300 for fifth and $200 for sixth through 10th. Drivers must display two Side Biter decals on their race car to be eligible for point fund shares. Willamette Speedway aims to open this Saturday

By Ben Deatherage LEBANON, Ore. – After last weekend’s disappointing cancellation, Willamette Speedway will once again try to have it’s first racing event of 2018 on Saturday, April 21. While IMCA Modifieds return to the historic 1/3-mile venue, both the IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars and Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMods are primed for their Willamette debuts. Pit gates open at 1 p.m. and the front gates open at 3:30. Racing is at 6 p.m. Officials ask that fans and race teams keep a close eye on the track website or Facebook page for weather and race day updates.

Jackson Motorplex postpones IMCA Frostbuster to May 5

By Shawn Miller JACKSON, Minn. – Jackson Motorplex officials have postponed the IMCA Frostbuster one week because of the recent snow accumulation as well as an impending snow storm later this week. The marquee season-opening event during Bank Midwest Night presents the Double Down Showdown will now be contested on Saturday, May 5. IMCA Modifieds, IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars, IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks, Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMods and Mach-1 Sport Compacts are on the card to compete with a unique opportunity for all divisions. The winner’s payout in the respective main events will be doubled if 24 or more cars show up in a given class. Without the bonus, Modifieds will race for $600 to win, Stock Cars and SportMods for $500 to win, Hobby Stocks for $300 to win and Sport Compacts for $100. EAGLE, Neb. – Eagle Raceway is going to be the place to be this weekend for nearly 300 IMCA drivers Pre-entries for the 2018 lidlifter now include 49 IMCA Modifieds, 46 IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Cars, 32 IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars, 50 IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks, 65 Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMods and 43 Mach-1 Sport Compacts. Cedar County Raceway rolls out red carpet for Deery Series opener

TIPTON, Iowa – With a much more promising forecast in store, Cedar County Raceway rolls out the red carpet for opening night of the Deery Brothers Summer Series this Saturday, April 21. The IMCA Late Model tour main event pays $2,000 to win and a minimum of $300 to start. This will be the ninth Deery event held at Tipton since 1996 and the first opener held there in the series’ 32-year history. MOHAVE VALLEY, Ariz. (April 14) – Consistency has Chaz Baca on top of IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National and Larry Shaw Race Cars Western Region point standings. Speed put him in victory lane Saturday at Mohave Valley Raceway’s 25th anniversary special … twice. Baca led the last 10 laps in winning the IMCA Modified feature, and $1,500. Lauer dominates IMCA Modifieds at Merced’s Bill Egleston Tribute

MERCED, Calif. (April 14) – It had been a few years since Danny Lauer turned laps at Merced Speedway but it didn’t take him long to find the fastest way the oval at Saturday’s Bill Egleston Tribute. Lauer led all 50 laps of the evening’s IMCA Modified feature, earning $4,015 along with a spot on the Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot. “We were stoked. We unloaded the car and never touched a thing. It was fast all night,” Lauer said after pocketing the biggest check of his career in the class. “I took the lead going into (turn) one on the first lap and ran the bottom.
