TIPTON, Iowa – With a much more promising forecast in store, Cedar County Raceway rolls out the red carpet for opening night of the Deery Brothers Summer Series this Saturday, April 21.
The IMCA Late Model tour main event pays $2,000 to win and a minimum of $300 to start. This will be the ninth Deery event held at Tipton since 1996 and the first opener held there in the series’ 32-year history.
Pit gates open at 4 p.m. Saturday and the grandstand opens at 5 p.m. Hot laps are at 6:15 p.m. with racing to follow.
Spectator admission is $18 for adults, $16 for seniors and students and free for kids ages 12 and under. Pit passes are $30

Justin Kay of Wheatland has won three straight Deery features at Cedar County, from 2014-2016.
The new passing point system announced last month to determine the starting lineup for the main event will be used for the first time.
The series will next be at Maquoketa Speedway on Saturday, May 5 and Quad City Speedway in East Moline, Ill., on Sunday, May 6 for $2,000 to win shows.
