Murty Muscles Past Carter for Stock Car Thriller

By Kaden Krebs MARSHALLTOWN, Iowa (Aug. 8, 2025) — The Sunoco IMCA Stock Car main event at Marshalltown Speedway was the showstopper of the night, going 20 hard-fought laps. Ethan Atcheson and Dillon Solum brought the field to green, with Solum pacing the opening lap before a quick caution with 19 to go. Solum, Brayton Carter, and Dallon Murty staged an early three-way fight for the top spot until another yellow at lap 16 bunched them again. Carter pounced on the restart, taking the lead with 15 to go, but Murty stayed in striking distance. After a final caution with five laps left, Murty and Carter pulled away from the pack, with David Brandiss and Jimmy Gustin joining the scrap in the closing laps. Murty outdueled Carter at the stripe to back up his win from the previous week — his sixth Stock Car victory of 2025, two of them at Marshalltown and five in the EQ Cylinder Heads Northern Region. Carter, Brandiss, Gustin, and Solum completed the top five. Berry Jr. Bests Murty in Modified [Read More]

Title Sponsor Announced, Pre-Registration Open for Southern SportMod Super Nationals

By Ben Deatherage KENNEDALE, Texas (Aug. 13, 2025) — The IMCA Southern SportMod Super Nationals return to Kennedale Speedway Park on September 4–6, now with Summit Racing Equipment on board as title sponsor for both the Super Nationals and the All-Star special in a newly signed three-year deal. The Southern SportMod-exclusive event, in its fourth year at KSP, has become a premier destination for top-tier talent in the division from across the region. The road to the Super Nationals began with the Prelude presented by Mike Frieri last Saturday August 9, which paid $2,000 to win. By finishing on top of the podium in that event, Casey Brunson locked himself into Saturday’s big dance. The Prelude also served as a qualifying opportunity for the All-Star portion of Super Nationals week. Drivers who either competed in the Prelude or have won a 2025 IMCA-sanctioned Southern SportMod feature are eligible for the All-Star qualifying heats on Thursday, September 4. The top 20 finishers will advance to the $1,000 to win, $100 to start All-Star Feature, which runs Friday, [Read More]
