Dodge City Raceway Park practice this Sunday

By Lonnie Wheatley  DODGE CITY, Kan. – With the opening weekend of racing action at Dodge City Raceway Park little more than one week away, the track will host an open practice this Sunday, June 14. Sunday’s practice session will get under way at 5 p.m. and continue until 9 p.m.  Practice sessions will take place upon both the 3/8-mile clay oval and the 1/7-mile Little DCRP clay oval.  Pit gates open at 3 p.m. with general admission gates open at 3 p.m.   Pit admission is $20 per person with admission to the grandstands free. Sunday’s practice precedes a season that kicks off Saturday, June 20, with the Hobby Stock Roundup, featuring a $750-to-win and $75-to-start feature event for IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks.  It will also be the opening round of championship chase action for the Dodge City Raceway Park Sprint Cars, IMCA Modifieds, IMCA SportMods and IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars.  The opening round of action for Micros and Go Karts atop the Little DCRP clay oval follows at 6:30 p.m. on Sunday, June 21.  Detailed schedule information [Read More]

Weekly racers ready to go Friday at U.S. 36 Raceway

OSBORN, Mo. – Between rainouts and special events at U.S. 36 Raceway, a month has passed since the weekly competitors at all competed on the same night.  Friday, June 12, the weekly racers ready to challenge the high banks once again. The IMCA Modi­fieds, IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Cars, IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars and Karl Kustoms Northern SportMods are all on lineup.  Pit gates open at 4 p.m. The grandstand opens at 6 p.m., with hot laps at 7:30 p.m. and racing at 8 p.m. Tickets are $15 for general admission, $12 for military and seniors (with ID) and children 12 and younger are free. RPM hosts Hughes Memorial Sunflower Classic June 13, 14

HAYS, Kan. – IMCA Modifieds and touring IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Cars chase $1,000 top checks both nights of RPM Speedway’s June 13-14 Mike Hughes Memorial Sunflower Classic.  A minimum of $125 will be paid to start each Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot qualifying fea­ture for the Modifieds. Both Sprint Car features are United Rebel Sprint Series Tour events. Saturday and Sunday features for IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars pay $400 to win. IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks and Karl Kustoms Northern SportMods both race for $300 to win, Mach-1 Sport Compacts for $200 to win. Both shows are draw/redraw and racing starts at 5 p.m. each day. Budweiser Shootout Friday at U.S. 36

OSBORN, Mo. – This Friday, June 5, is the Budweiser Shootout at U.S. 36 Raceway. The Sprint Series of Nebraska headlines the event. IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars are also racing.  The Sprint Series of Nebraska pays $700 to win and $250 to start. IMCA RaceSaver Sprints have heat race bonuses as well as $75 goes to each heat race winner, $50 to second and $25 to third.  Pit gates open at 4 p.m. The grandstand opens at 6 p.m., with hot laps at 7:30 p.m. and racing at 8 p.m. Tickets for the event are $20 for general admission, $18 for senior and military and chil­dren 12 and younger are free. Season opener tonight at Buena Vista Raceway

ALTA, Iowa – Pit gates and the grandstand open at 5 p.m. today (Wednesday) for the season opener at Buena Vista Raceway. IMCA Modifieds, IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars, IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks, Karl Kustoms Northern SportMods and Mach-1 Sport Compacts are on the draw/redraw card. IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National, regional, state and track points will be awarded.  Hot laps are at 7 p.m. with racing to follow. Pit passes are $25 for adults, $15 for kids ages 6-10 and free for five and under. Spectator admission is $10 for adults, $5 for seniors 65 and over, veterans and students ages 13-18, and free for kids 12 and under and active military personnel.  Tonight’s race program at Alta will be broadcast by Advantage Racing TV, part of the IMCA.TV net­work.

Grandstands open at Independence Motor Speedway this Saturday

By Jerry Mackey   INDEPENDENCE, Iowa – The 2020 Independence Motor Speedway season resumes this coming Saturday, June 6 in front of a live crowd for the first time this year. Independence, promoted by jjamracing, which is comprised of Mick Trier and partner Justin Temeyer, is anxious to continue the racing season with fans in attendance. Racing runs under the IMCA banner with sanctioned divisions including the IMCA Modifieds, IMCA Sunoco Late Models, IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars, IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks and Karl Kustoms Northern SportMods. The 3/8 mile track, located on the Buchanan County Fairgrounds in Independence, will see the pits open at 3:30 p.m. and grandstand open at 4:30 p.m., with warmups set for 6 p.m. and racing to follow.

Season opener with fans at Benton County Speedway Sunday, June 7

By Jerry Mackey  VINTON, Iowa – The 2020 point racing season will take the green flag this Sunday, June 7 at the Benton County Speedway, The Bullring. Under the direction of the Dripps family, the Speedway located on the Benton County Fairgrounds has undergone many improvements and upgrades. The track is in excellent condition and with all the time and effort put into enhancing the surface, the track is going to be very conducive to extremely exciting racing.   Sunday night’s racing under the IMCA sanction will see racing in the IMCA Modified, IMCA Sunoco Stock Car, Karl Kustoms Northern SportMod and IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stock divisions.  “We are really excited to welcome the fans to The Bullring this Sunday,” stated Rick Dripps, “Our goal is to provide an exciting, fast-paced show that will be run in a timely fashion “  On Sunday, the warmup session will get underway at 4:30 p.m. with the first race scheduled to go green at 5 p.m.

Four IMCA divisions race Saturday at Bethany Speedway

By Chet Querry BETHANY, Mo. – Bethany Speedway returns to action on June 6 with a full night of racing at the Northwest Missouri State Fairgrounds.  The Saturday program features IMCA Modifieds, IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Cars, IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars and Karl Kustoms Northern SportMods.  Opening night of the 2020 season saw records broken with total of 128 cars and drivers traveling from as far away as Pennsylvania, Ohio, Illinois, Arkansas and Arizona to race on the smooth, fast and always competitive Bethany oval.  There are a lot of local names bringing cars to race and more cars being built. Lap after lap of the best side-by-side racing action is at Bethany Speedway.

Thomas County Speedway gears up for busy June

COLBY, Kan. – Thomas County Speedway will host its season opener this Friday, June 5 at the 3/8-mile speedplant. In action will be IMCA Modifieds, IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars, IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks, Karl Kustoms Northern SportMods and Mach-1 Sport Compacts.   Pit gates open at 5 p.m. with grandstands opening at 6:30 p.m. General admission tickets cost $10 for adults with children ages 12 and under admitted free when accompanying a paid adult.  Racing action continues on Friday, June 12 with the same divisions and start times, before leading into a big doubleheader weekend June 26 and 27.   The Friday night, June 26 card will again see sanctioned Modifieds, Stock Cars, Hobby Stocks, Northern SportMods and Sport Compacts in action. The Saturday, June 27 card changes pace and welcomes the United Rebel Sprint Series as part of a one-of-a-kind show that’s never been seen before at Thomas County Speedway. 300 Raceway fine tuning for June 3 opener

FARLEY, Iowa – With one practice session left for fine-tuning, promoter R.J. Simon had a promise for IMCA drivers looking forward to opening night next Wednesday at 300 Raceway. “It’s going to be one of the fastest tracks you’ve seen at Farley,” he predicted, with IMCA Modifieds, IMCA Sunoco Late Models, IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars and Karl Kustoms Northern SportMods all on the June 3 card.  The evening’s program will be held in honor of the late Randy Mackey, a long-time track employee at Farley. Gates open at 5 p.m. and racing follows 6:30 p.m. hot laps. “We have a test and tune this Friday. We’ve already gotten a lot of good feedback from drivers and we’re really stoked about this season,” Simon continued. “We’ve looked forward to being able to open the grandstands and have made a lot of changes to the track (from regrading to making entries and exits more driver-friendly).
