XSAN Hawkeye Dirt Tour date at Lee County rescheduled to July 14

DONNELLSON, Iowa (June 19) – Another ominous forecast has resulted in another XSAN Hawkeye Dirt Tour postponement. With rain in the late afternoon and evening forecast, the IMCA Xtreme Motor Sports Modified tour event scheduled tonight (Tuesday) at Lee County Speedway in Donnellson has been moved to Monday, July 14. Program of events for that night is to be announced. The new date makes for an even busier week of racing for IMCA Modified drivers, following weekly races and the July 13 Hogan Memorial at Benton County Speedway in Vinton. The Hawkeye Dirt Tour is at Southern Iowa Speedway on Tuesday, July 15 and at Knoxville Raceway on Thursday, July 17 for the Harris Clash show; Oskaloosa’s regular weekly show is on the Wednesday between those dates.

DONNELLSON, Iowa (June 16) – Touring IMCA Xtreme Motor Sports Modifieds see Thursday night action at Lee County Speedway. The XSAN Hawkeye Dirt Tour travels to Donnellson for a June 19 show that pays $1,000 to win and a minimum of $150 to start. IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National, Belleville Motorsports North Central Region, Allstar Performance State and special series points will be awarded for the Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot qualifier. Pit gates open at 5 p.m. and the grandstand opens at 5:30 p.m. Hot laps are at 6:45 p.m. and racing gets underway at 7:30 p.m. Spectator admission is $15 for adults, $7 for kids and free for children 10 and under when accompany­ing a paying adult. Pit passes are $30. Completing the program are IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars, Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMods, Mach-1 Sport Compacts and the Sprint Invaders. WEBSTER CITY, Iowa (June 12) – Track officials have announced that special series events rained out last week at Hamilton County Speedway will not be rescheduled. The program featuring both the Deery Brothers Summer Series for IMCA Late Models and the XSAN Hawkeye Dirt Tour for IMCA Xtreme Motor Sports Modifieds was to have been held Tuesday, June 3 at Webster City.

TIPTON, Iowa (June 12) – A Deery Brothers Summer Series-XSAN Hawkeye Dirt Tour doubleheader at Cedar County Raceway in Tipton has been rescheduled, as has the Hawkeye Dirt Tour event at Benton County Speedway in Vinton. Both the Deery Series for IMCA Late Models and the Hawkeye Dirt Tour for IMCA Xtreme Motor Sports Modifieds will be at Tipton on Tuesday, Aug. 19. That pairing was originally postponed because of inclement weather on June 10. A Monday, Aug. 18 Hawkeye Dirt Tour event at Benton County Speedway in Vinton is back on the schedule. Late Models run for $3,000 to win and a minimum of $300 to start at Cedar County. Modified features at Tipton and at Vinton both pay $1,000 to win and a minimum of $150 to start and are now qualifying events for the 2015 Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot.

Ward tops XSAN Hawkeye Dirt Tour opener at I-35

MASON CITY, Iowa (May 26) – A driver from Arizona who won a state championship in Nebraska found success in Iowa Monday night. Tim Ward led most of the XSAN Hawkeye Dirt Tour main event at I-35 Speedway. He’d gotten the front spot back from J.J. Wise before rain forced the IMCA Xtreme Motor Sports Modified feature to be called after 16 of the scheduled 25 laps. “The car was really good. We were really fast,” said Ward, racing out of Laurens and teammate of 2010 series champion Mike Jergens this season. “I got a good starting spot but I think I could have started further back and still had a chance to get to the front.” Two cautions interrupted the series-opening night contest.
