By Greg Grabianowski BRITT, Iowa (June 18) – Three drivers were repeat visitors to victory lane Saturday at Hancock County Speedway. Josh Ruby won his second straight Xtreme Motor Sports IMCA Modified feature, and third of the season at Britt, by coming from the inside of the third row. Jesse Hoeft was the runner-up with Cody Knecht third. David Smith took his second local IMCA Sunoco Stock Car feature win of the summer at the Han­cock County Speedway, coming from the outside of row three. Derek Green was second with Chad Palmer third. Josh Appel captured his first career feature win in the Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMod division after taking the green flag inside the third row. Nick Meyer was second followed by Josh Mattick. Drew Barglof also came from the inside the third row to take the IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stock fea­ture with Cody Nielsen second. Tony Smidt ended up third. Oliver Monson won the Mach-1 Sport Compact feature for the third straight week.

(June 18) ­– Randy Wilson led every lap of the Xtreme Motor Sports IMCA Modified feature when the Kansas Thunder Series kicked off its inaugural season at Rooks County Speedway on Saturday. The lone caution in the Modified main waved on lap four when pole starter Jesse Richter drove off turn four. Wilson led the field back to green and to the checkers. Tim Watts gave chase the entire distance but settled for the runner-up spot, followed by Mike Petersilie. Casey Woken won the caution-free IMCA Sunoco Stock Car main event. Hometown driver Chad Sterling took the lead at the start and looked to make his way to the winner’s circle but Woken took to the high side of the track and made up a lot of ground. He took the lead from Sterling on lap 12 in the 15-lap event and scored the win.  Sterling was second, followed by Kyle Pfeifer. BOONE, Iowa (June 18) ­– Three drivers walked away with back-to-back wins and a new face visited victory lane Saturday at Boone Speedway. Scott Davis came away with his first win at Boone in the 20-lap Xtreme Motor Sports IMCA Modi­fied feature. Davis led all 20 laps on his way to that victory.  Josh Truman finished second, third place went to 11th place starter and point leader Mike VanGenderen, fourth was Matthew Meinecke and Cole Ferguson rounded out the top five. Two IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars quickly shot to the front. Jay Schmidt started eighth and had the lead at lap five, with 11th place starter Donavon Smith attached to his rear bumper.  Schmidt couldn’t shake Smith, who finally snuck underneath him to take over as captain of the ship on lap 10. Smith would hold tight to that lead the rest of the way to the win.  Schmidt finished second, Rod Richards started 10th and finished third, fourth went to Josh Daniels and Wayne Gifford was fifth. MARSHALLTOWN, Iowa (June 17) – Gene Nicklas won Friday’s IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stock feature, ending Eric Stanton’s perfect season at Marshalltown Speedway. Nicklas took command from David Simpson at lap four, and led all the remaining laps to the finish. His comfortable lead vanished when a caution came out on lap 13 for debris and bunched the field. On the restart, Stanton passed two cars, going from fourth to second and was looking for another miraculous win to keep his streak alive but it wasn’t to be, and he had to settle for second. This ended his perfect season at seven wins in a row. Leah Wroten, Gary Pfantz, and Simpson completed the top five. By Jerry Mackey DUBUQUE, Iowa (June 19) –The headliner of the Sunday night Fathers’ Day show at Dubuque Speedway was the 25-lap Out-Pace Racing Products IMCA Late Model feature. Luke Goedert advanced from a second row start to take the lead early. While Goedert worked low, Dan Shelliam was riding the high side to pull even. Shelliam took over the point and led for five laps before getting too high in turn two scraping the wall. Goedert went on to lead the rest of the feature for the win while Shelliam recovered to finish se­cond. Bobby Hansen crossed under the checkers in third. The Merfeld Brothers Automotive IMCA Modifieds delighted the fans with plenty of wheel to wheel rac­ing in their 20-lap feature. By Dru Brown BILLINGS, Mont. (June 18) – Hank Berry started fast and finished smooth as silk in winning Satur­day’s Xtreme Motor Sports IMCA Modified feature at Billings Motorsports Park. Right from the drop of the green flag, Berry seized the top spot and ran away.  Deep in the pack Kenny Baumann was man handling his car through traffic but it appeared like he was running out of laps to track down Berry. Baumann made his way all the way to second and seemed to be the only driver to hang with Berry. Just before the frontrunners took the white flag the yellow waved and a smile had to have crept across Baumann’s face because he knew this was the shot he needed. Berry took the cars to the start/finish line and Baumann drove his Modified in there as hard as he could and made it stick, but Berry maintained the lead out of turn two.
