BSB Manufacturing signed on as title sponsor for SportMod Race of Champions at Super Nationals

WELLINGTON, Kan. – BSB Manufacturing expanded its partnership role with IMCA again this season, taking on title sponsorship of the Northern SportMod Race of Champions during the IMCA Speedway Motors Super Nationals fueled by Casey’s. The Wellington, Kan., high performance parts manufacturer and retailer provides a portion of the $1,500 purse to be paid for the sixth annual race, to be held Saturday, Sept. 6 at Boone Speedway. In its sixth season as an IMCA sponsor, BSB has also renewed a contingency award program benefitting Deery Brothers Summer Series competitors as well as drivers in five divisions. $4,000 is possible to win at 20th annual Hogan Memorial

VINTON, Iowa (July 6) – It’s billed as the most anticipated event of the year at Benton County Speedway and the 20th annual Hogan Memorial is a good bet to be just that. The Sunday, July 13 IMCA Xtreme Motor Sports Modified main event pays $1,250 to win, another $50 for each of the 40 laps led, plus $250 to the leader at midway. With the addition of a $500 hard charger award, that makes for a potential payoff of $4,000. VanderBeek repeats as big gun at Great American Stock Car Shootout

By Jeremy Fox OSKALOOSA, Iowa (July 2-3) – His latest Great American Stock Car feature win put an even bigger check in Zack VanderBeek’s pocket. VanderBeek repeated as winner of the pre-holiday special for IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars at Southern Iowa Speedway. The Thursday victory paid $2,000, $500 more than the 2013 checkers at Osky, and made VanderBeek eligible to qualify for the Sunoco Race Fuels Race of Champions at the upcoming IMCA Speedway Motors Super Nationals fueled by Casey’s. Damon Murty grabbed the lead at the start of the 19th annual event before giving way to Derrick Agee on lap two. Agee stayed in front until VanderBeek worked his way by up on lap 10. BOONVILLE, Ind. – Dynatech Headers rewards four Modified drivers again in 2014, its 10th season as a marketing partner with IMCA. Feature distance just right for David Smith at Buena Vista Raceway’s Suter Memorial

ALTA, Iowa (July 2) – From the vantage point of winner David Smith, the 25-lap distance for Buena Vista Raceway’s Kyle Suter Memorial was just right. Smith led the last 24 circuits and earned $1,000 for his Wednesday night IMCA Sunoco Stock Car victory at Alta. “I ran the very top of the track. There was just enough momentum on the top, which was starting to go away,” said Smith, who’d lined up behind pole starter Chris Ullrich and taken the lead with a pass inside. “I didn’t want any more laps.” Smith’s younger brother Devin, a contender for national and Arnold Motor Supply Northern Region rookie of the year honors, used lower lines in advancing 13 spots to second. “Any time you see us finish 1-2, it’s good. Deery Series returns to West Liberty for July 8 show

WEST LIBERTY, Iowa (July 3) – The Deery Brothers Summer Series makes its second of three visits this season to West Liberty Raceway on July 8. Pit gates open at 4 p.m. and the grandstand opens at 5 p.m. for next Tuesday’s $3,000 to win, minimum $300 to start IMCA Late Model show. Racing follows 6:30 p.m. hot laps. Admission to the grandstand is $16 for adults and free for kids 12 and under when accompanying paid adults. Pit passes are $30. TORRANCE, Calif. – A wealth of product and product certificate awards go to IMCA drivers in five divisions competing with claim engines this season, courtesy of Edelbrock. The Torrance, Calif., high performance parts manufacturer gives a 2975 Victor Jr. intake to the highest finishing eligible driver in each of the five regions for IMCA Xtreme Motor Sports Modifieds. Both IMCA Sunoco Stock Car regional champions get $100 product certificates. Highest finishing claim engine drivers in the IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stock regions and in national Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMod and Scoggin-Dickey Parts Center Southern SportMod points receive 2701 intakes. Lab testing confirms Mullen $10,000 richer

VINTON, Iowa (July 2) – Samples of the tires Mike Mullen used in winning the Clash at the Creek special for IMCA Xtreme Motor Sports Modifieds have passed testing conducted at an independent laboratory. The June 26 victory at Francis Creek paid $10,000. This was the second time this season tire samples have been sent for testing. IMCA officials indicated sampling will continue throughout the 2014 point season.

Hoosier now in ninth season as official tire of IMCA

LAKEVILLE, Ind. – Continuing one of the most popular associations enjoyed by the sanctioning body, Hoosier Racing Tire is now in its ninth season as manufacturer of the official tire for five IMCA divisions. Hoosier manufactures and distributes the IMCA-stamped G60-15 tire for the IMCA Xtreme Motor Sports Modified, IMCA Sunoco Stock Car and Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMod divisions; the IMCA-SCL stamped tire for IMCA Late Models; and the IMCA-stamped 500 tire for Scoggin-Dickey Parts Center Southern SportMods.
